PGO Lite won't connect any longer

My first post to the forum.
I hadn't used PGO Lite since very early last year (according to the logs) when it worked fine. Same (old system WinXPSP3). I came to used it to get the messages from the same Yahoo group (only have one) and I entered the password (as I had needed to change Yahoo password since last using PGP Lite). But I get Error : Invalid page format, which of course initially caused me to check the password. I know this is OK as I used the same details to log back into the Yahoo networks so knew it to be right. I also checked if there was a newer version as the help page said, and did reinstall what seemed to be the same version.

It doesn't *seem* to be due to this new 'NEO' version of Groups, as my UK group hasn't changed yet. This is the error log:

03/09/2013 15:32:27 >  Application was started
03/09/2013 15:32:27 >  Application was started
03/09/2013 15:32:39 >  Set group's info (***)
03/09/2013 15:32:39 >  Authorization started
03/09/2013 15:32:41 >  Authorization accomplished
03/09/2013 15:32:41 >  Request number of messages
03/09/2013 15:32:42 >  Error : Invalid page format.
03/09/2013 15:33:01 >  Application was finished

Does anyone have any idea what may cause this please?

Hi,

"Invalid Page Format" is the error you would expect if the group format has changed.

You could try installing Version 4 beta which is an entirely re-written version.

If it gives the same error then its reasonably certain that the group format has changed.

Cheers,

  Wilson Logan.

Thanks for reply. I have tried version 4 beta, but it still fails. I can't find log files, but just copying from the lower part of the interface I get:

Receiving messages for group XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Logging with XXXXX@yahoo.co.uk. Group - XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Failed to retreive groups messages count.
Downloading completed.

Group is still definitely not changed.

Thanks

Wilson Logan

Interesting... which browser are you using to view the group?

PGO uses Internet Explorer to get the pages from Yahoo.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I use Firefox, though most likely I was using IE when I last used PGO Lite successfully early last year. I have most of the main browsers installed and occasionally use one of the others for things. Do you recommend setting IE as the temporary default browser for now, or is that unlikely to help, with either PGO Lite, or PGO 4 beta.

Wilson Logan

Hi,

PGO is hardcoded to use IE so unfortunately, your choice of default browser does not affect it.

I get "Invalid Page Format" error in PGOLite.  I downloaded PGOLite and installed it again but still the same error.  Any help????

Wilson Logan

Yahoo groups have changed the format of the groups (Neo).

We are working to make PG Offline compatible with Neo.

Wilson.

Is a new version of PGO Lite now available to work with the NEO format?  Thank you.

Wilson Logan

No but Version 4 is currently free so you can transition to that:

http://www.personalgroupware.com/groupmanager/pg-offline-4-r800-setup.zip

and when we make it a 'pay for' product we will produce a free Lite version as well.

Your messages downloaded with V4 will be compatible with V4 Lite.

Cheers,

Wilson.
