Help !

My install is saying its expired - my registration info has disappeared.

When I go to reset it, it fails and tells me the registration is invalid.

I notice that the HD serial field is blank and I can not enter it either.

Any ideas how to fix this ?

Manfred

Hi Manfred,

The HD serial field is present but no longer used in some circumstances.

I will send you your registration details and you can check them.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi Manfred,

Ahh.... the registration server is down.

Thats why you can't get registered.

I'll send them a support request.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Manfred

Still no joy... :-(

I have a number in my notes but it doesn't work.

Perhaps I'm not doing it correctly ?

The registration dialog is abit confusing..

Hi Manfred,

The server is still down.

This is one reason I want to move away from version 3 to version 4.

Can I ask you to try version 4:

hmmmm.....

what are the ramifications / glitches of trying v4 ?

will it remove v3, what happens to my data ?

there are 2 setup files in the zip.... some instructions would be helpful.

thanks

Wilson Logan

Hi Manfred,

Version 4 installs to an entirely separate folder so your version 3 data is safe.

Good point about the two setup files. Use the larger of the two files if you have never installed PGO V4 previously.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Manfred

OK - Installed - now what ?

How do I get my saved data recognized by V4 ?

I dont want to DL everything from scratch and duplicate everything.
There are Gigs of data. Also some of my data has mixed yahoo login credentials.
Is that handled by V4 ?

???

Wilson Logan

Hi Manfred,

To get your old data, use File-->Import from Folder.

Use the "Browse" button to locate your current ygroups.mdb file.

Then do "Get List". This will show you all your groups inside the database.

Use the checkboxes to select which groups to import.

Then use the "Import" button to import your groups.

Currently mutiple Yahoo logins are not handled. You'll have to re-enter then manually using

Group--> Group Settings --> Group Logon.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Manfred

Wilson - Thanks for taking the time to help out

At the risk of dragging this out further I must ask for some additional guidence.
I do not use a ygroups.mdb filemI have several databases named by subject each containing several groups, often with different login info.

Also - I have no idea where they are - they seem to be buried or hidden on the disk. I only access them via the PGO interface which does not show the complete path to their location.

Where to now ?

Wilson Logan

Hi Manfred,

I am always pleased to answer your questions.

If (like myself) you have multiple databases then you can find them by doing a search for:

*.mdb

in the Windows Search facility. That should locate them for you.

Please let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Manfred

OK - I was able to import one of my databases.

Sorry - but v4 is not for me... features are missing that I rely on such as a status bar at the bottom showing vital info and the BOLDing of the groups that have new messages. I did not play around too much. It also would not DL groups under a different login than the master login.

I would really appreciate if you could provide info to get my v3 working agai. , my goal right now is to get access and get my data updated

I'd be happy to be a tester for v4 and give you feedback in the future.

Thanks

Hi Manfred,

Good news. The registration server appears to be fixed. I was able to access it last night.

Please try registering your new copy of PGO v3.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Manfred

Well - No Joy !

No matter how I enter the number I have - PGO complains.

Invalid #
Enter Number
Get New Number...

Its all very convoluted and confusing.

Can you make this work ?

Thanks

Wilson Logan

Hi Manfred,

I will contact you personally to send you your registration details.

The V3 registration dialogue is very touchy about case & spelling....

Cheers,

Wilson.
