Thanks for the new version, glad you have someone new to maintain/develop this VERY useful program...I really don't know where I would be without it.

A few things that I have noticed in version 2.5.53 that I've not noticed before.

Running XP with all Microsoft updates

Right clicking on a subject needs 2 right clicks before the menu appears

Messages are not marked as read after 5 seconds. The first message I read in a group is marked read after 5 sec, but not subsequent messages.
If I change to another group and then return to the first group, again only 1 message is automatically marked as read.

Select a group of messages ie click on one & then shift click on another one. The selection highlight now does not alter if I click on a message within the currently selected messages. Clicking outside the current selection is fine.

Click on a message and then very quickly move the cursor to the left into the group list pane.
The message clicked on is highlighted correctly, but it doesn't 'let go' as I move the cursor up & down in the group pane
the highlight in the message pane moves up and down with it.

I just ran 2.5.47 and these problems don't occur in that version.

Has crashed a couple of times, sorry I forgot to save the dump, will try harder next time!!

Anything more I can tell you just ask.

Thanks again for such a useful product

John

Hi John,

Please give 2.5.059 a whirl:

Thanks...059 certainly helps :)

Right clicking brings the menu up first time  :)

Messages are marked as read when they should be  :)

But clicking within a group of selected messages still doesn't change the selection  :(

May be a coincidence but...with .059 I'm getting lots of time outs when downloading messages, not a problem I've had before. But as I say this may be coincidence, I've only run this new version once.

Not a bug really, more of a feature request....
viewing links within the message is great, but if its a web page I probably want to view it in the browser. Trouble is I use Firefox not Internet Explorer & there is not an option in 'options' to set which browser to use.

Many Thanks

John

Hi John,

Please give 2.5.060 a whirl:

I tried selecting a group of messages and then selecting one. It certainly works in Vista with 2.5.060.
The time out message has been relegated to a status window message as having it as a pop-up was a bit OTT.

Please let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi Wilson

Sorry took a while getting back to you...Should be 78 hours in a day!

Sorry 060 not an improvement...

Times out every time I try it. Both refresh all groups or a single one.

Typical output when refreshing all groups. It tries the first group and...
27/03/2008 12:49:59 >  Authorization started
27/03/2008 12:50:20 >  Time out. Receive stop.
27/03/2008 12:50:29 >  Authorization accomplished
And that's the last it does

Version 47 Which is the other one I still have on my machine is getting zero time outs, so I'm back to using that

Away for another couple of days.

Good Luck

John

Hi John,

Yes, annoying isn't it. It times out every 60 seconds.

I will get Matti to fix it but he's working on the P2P group sharing feature and he's loath to flick backwards & forwards between issues. I gather the message sharing thing is non-trivial.

For the moment you could try a bit of regression. Maybe 2.5.057?

I can't remember exactly when the time out thing started being a problem.

Wilson.

Thanks Wilson

No rush...I used to be in software development, so I know what its like to have someone breathing down your neck wanting things fixed & being expected to swap from one problem to another!

Will be nice when it all works perfectly, but its currently 'good enough', so don't stress your man!

Have a good one
