Firewall.

'Invalid Server Response' is PGOs way of saying it can't find the internet.

If it worked on an old machine via the same connection and now throws the 'Invalid Server Response' error its 99% sure its a Firewall or security software issue.

The only other cause is that Yahoo groups is temporarily down.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Does this mean that I will not be able to use this program with a firewall? My firewall does not prevent me accessing Yahoo Groups using Internet Explorer, however I can see no option for entering firewall settings in the 30 day trial version of PG Offline I have just downloaded...

Thanks in anticpiation of your reply!
Dave

Hi Dave,

When you add a firewall it usually automatically allows all the programs that are already on the machine. If you add a new program it will disallow that program until you specifically allow it. This permission can be found only in the firewall software, not PG Offline.

Please consult the manual for your firewall software or Google for

<name of firewall> set permissions

Where <name of firewall> is the name of your firewall or privacy software.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Thanks Wilson, but this is not a personal firewall I'm referring to it - it is our corporate firewall at work.

Hi Dave,

If you can make a business case for you having access to Yahoo groups at work then you can go to the network admin people and ask them to add PGO to the firewall permitted software list.

Otherwise you'll have to stick to using it at home.

Cheers,

Wilson.
