H,
Recently I changed my yahoo  password and then I started having the "Error : Invalid page format." in ALL my groups (private and public, all in english by the way)

So I remembered then to change the master login password, and tried again but no success.

Then I did the following:

I deleted all coockies and signed up again with MS IExplorer, I checked that a new coockie was created, try once more but same result

I marked option "Skip authorization", tried again to no results. same error

I entered a session on MS IExp and kept it opened as  I went back to try again but couldn't download them. In this case, and according to PGO  I'm already passing the authorization phase, because the messages are:

Set group's info (whatever...)
05/01/2006 06:01:38 p.m. >  Authorization started
05/01/2006 06:01:48 p.m. >  Authorization accomplished
05/01/2006 06:01:48 p.m. >  Request number of messages
05/01/2006 06:01:58 p.m. >  Error : Invalid page format.

But, in two smalls groups  I'm getting at least the number of messages:

05/01/2006 06:09:46 p.m. >  Set group's info (private_group_test)
05/01/2006 06:09:46 p.m. >  Authorization skipped
05/01/2006 06:09:47 p.m. >  Request number of messages
05/01/2006 06:09:52 p.m. >  Number of messages : 6
05/01/2006 06:09:52 p.m. >  Receive complete

Being private_group_test the one Wilson setup for testing some months ago,
Is yahoo messing aroung again with formats of there is something else going out???

Hi Roberto,

I don't know of any big changes. This may be transient for you as they may be updating some of the servers you get your messages from.

Leave it for a couple of days, try again and let me know whats happening.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Woah.. spoke too soon.

All my groups are IPF'ing also.

Its probably just us in Europe but if its America too we'll soon hear about it...

Cheers,

Wilson.

Wilson, Are you still having them?
My groups keep the same so far, Would it have to do with my  change of password?
cheers

Still getting an IPF since November.  Tried new computer and a complete re-install.  Nothing working at this point.  Why would Yahoo take so long to update.  It only takes them a day to change!!

I only d/l from one forum so if anyone else is reading the locost groups let me know please

hey..I've been attempting to download all the messages from a group I subscribe to. And given the messages and sequences of steps I've tried and the messages I have been able to download and the randomness of the messages chosen to download.
My best guess is this is not a server update issue. I wrote out a long descripton of the steps and history of my attempts and successes for the group I was attempting to download but when I went to publish it i was logged out . don't have the time to go through all that again now, maybe later.
But , from my experience with this so far if it's a server update issue then why can I download the first 300 msgs. of group and then not the next? why randomly chosen starting points will download one day but if you stop the update cycle and then go back and refresh other groups that will normally download, after waiting an hour, then go back to group you're having problems with that group gives IPF.?wich it may not have if the update sequence was left alone.
Anyway , I can add to this later but so far the experience leads me to believe that this problem is something else other than server update. But, I use a hammer and power tools . Computer software is a foreign experience as far as programminng.
We can keep pointing fingers at Yahoo but does anyone know if other newgroup readers are working? that is able to update or download yahoo groups messages ?
All the best ..as-stone

Hi Mate,

Give it a week and see if it settles down. If not I can give you instructions to run PGO in debug mode which will produce diagnostic data we can use.

Cheers,

Wilson.

hey Wilson,
Still had problems 2 days ago . got the IPF error for 4 groups . 1 of the 4 that had been downloading and then went IPF still had the same issue.

4 other groups are downloading ok.

PGOffline trial has expired now. If it's possible to extend the trial a few days while we debugg that would be good , I have time to try.

Please let me know what you think .
regards, as-stone

Hi,

Its not possible to extend the trial but I'll give you your money back if we can't get you groups. Can't say fairer than that.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Wilson,
Thanks for your offer , that will work .
Very good of you.

Let me email you when I have it registered and have the time to trouble shoot .

Hope it works , I really liked using it for the groups that it downloaded. It's a great way to interface with the yahoo groups.

No problem. Just give the other groups some time.

You may be able to get them from other group members who are on different servers.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hell YEEEEESSSSSSS, you can bet IT HAD to do with my change of password

I changed back to what it was and BUM!, I started downloading again.

PGO has to have something regarding the master login, maybe with the changes the software took several months ago, when nobody would Download anything, and the recomended workaround was to enable/disable the "skip authorization" option.

I change back the password in Yahoo, then goto to PGO (v .43), I did NOT change master loging, I DID NOT enable "skip authorization" option and nonetherless (SP?) IT WORKED!. It turned out that anyway, the SW is skipping authorization anyway.
I guess the problem is that PGO isn't taking the change in master login after all.

It was stupid from me not making this test before but I was confused because  the messages I was getting. that made apparently I was logining rigthly to the groups.

Cheers,

bruce

Wilson,
I can confirm this behavior on my end also.

Change the master login and invalid page format is given.

Change the password back to previous value and downloads resume as before.  Using the latest PGO (2.5.43).

If you need me to get you some debug data, let me know in PM.

Hi All,

Well, the way it should work is that if you've got 'Skip Authorisation' on then PGO uses your cached login info from IE (probably your Master Login info).

If 'Skip Authorisation' is off then PGO should log you into Yahoo using your Master Login info.

Changing Master Login with 'Skip Authorisation' on should have no effect. Unless Alex (developer) has been smart & detects this change & cans 'Skip Authorisation' on the next startup because he knows the login details have changed.

Cheers,

Wilson.
