I'm running 2.5.39 on two computers and they both are now giving me invalid page error on all 6 groups that I download.

I'll confess that I changed my yahoo password to one that had a character not supported by PGO, but I made the correction and still no joy.  I'm not certain that that is the reason for the initial failure, but the timing was pretty close.  Any clues?  I went through the FAQ but none seem to apply.

Hi Brett,

Was it working with 038 ? or 037? If your servers have not been updated (something Yahoo do) you'd be better going back to an earlier version.

Please send me an email with some of the group names so I can do my own tests.

Hi Wilson
I'm having same problem. Version 038 suddenly started to gave me error Invalid Page
I upgraded to 039 but it was the same, below see an example of error messages:

24/06/2005 05:58:14 p.m. >  Set group's info (3DBrain)
24/06/2005 05:58:14 p.m. >  Authorization skipped
24/06/2005 05:58:15 p.m. >  Request number of messages
24/06/2005 05:58:18 p.m. >  Error : Invalid page format.

24/06/2005 05:58:19 p.m. >  Request number of messages
24/06/2005 05:58:20 p.m. >  Error : Invalid page format.

24/06/2005 05:58:20 p.m. >  Authorization skipped
24/06/2005 05:58:21 p.m. >  Request number of messages
24/06/2005 05:58:22 p.m. >  Error : Invalid page format.
24/06/2005 05:58:22 p.m. >  Set group's info (speedlife2004)
24/06/2005 05:58:22 p.m. >  Authorization skipped
24/06/2005 05:58:23 p.m. >  Request number of messages
24/06/2005 05:58:25 p.m. >  Number of messages : 62

I tryed running twice as you adviced, but that trick that was working on 038 stopped working all of a sudden as I said, what would be the solution?

Regards

Brett

I figured it out.  In adding a new group, I noticed the Group login dialog.  I had only changed the password in the Master Login window and not with the individual groups.  I guess the Master Login doesn't get you into the groups.  It seems to be working now.  Thanks

Wilson Logan

Hi Brett,

When you add a group it takes the login details from Master Login at the point of creation. If you subsequently change your login, the login details in the groups do not change. This is to allow you to specify group logins individually which allows you to use multiple login IDs.

Wilson.

Thanks.  Yes, the feature does make sense, and it is a good feature to have.  I just didn't realize it was there!

Thanks

I'm getting Invalid page format for all my groups; I am using 2.5.40, but also tried 2.5.39,  .38, .37 (I think), and .36. (I'm hoping the correct way to roll back is to apply the previous patches; if not, please advise). Anyway, I have 3 databases with from 3 to 39 groups each, and none of them is refreshing. The do- it-again routine that worked before isn't working.

Wilson Logan

Your method is correct for rolling back the releases. Can you give me an example of a public group you belong to that I could test with?

Thanks,

Wilson.

nightstitcher

Excuse my ignorance, but what counts as a public group - one that has its archives open to non-members, or just one that you can join without going through a moderator for approval?

nightstitcher

If by a "p ublic" group, you mean one that is listed and doesn't require approval, try oldpfaffpforum  (last message I was able to get was June 30, but there are messages through July 5 on Yahoo;  vikingsewingmachinespre1980 is in a similar situation, but membership requires approval.  On the other hand, for wefixit, which also doesn't require approval, I can still get messages (so was mistaken that I couldn't get them for any groups; wefixit seems to be the only one that *is* working. Up until a few days ago, I could get them all on  2.5.036 (I think), using the try/invalid-page-out/try again method.

Wilson Logan

I'll try oldpffafpforum later today & get back to you.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I tried to DL oldpfaffpforum & it worked for me. I will PM you a link to a zip file of the archive.

Can you do me a favour & run a debug session ?

You need to start PG Offline with the '-debug' switch.
Information is then logged to a log folder in the PG Offline installation folder.

1) Start -> Run cmd <enter>      (starts a DOS window)
2) cd C:\Program Files\PG Offline <enter>    (switch to PG Offline folder)
3) pgoffline25.exe ?debug <enter>     (start PG Offline in debug mode)

Once PG Offline starts, try to download oldpfaffpforum. Now close PG Offline. Zip and send me the information from the log folder.

Thanks,

Wilson.

nightstitcher

Thanks; will try that tonight & send the results. If you already tried to PM me the zip location, it probably bounced because I still had my old email in my profile. I've updated that, so please re-send.

Did you try the fix in this thread?

Yeah, that didn't help, but a full reinstall eventually did the trick.
