What about handling zipped archives. I am on more groups than I care to mention;) So I have several large databases. What I do is unzip them open PGO open the database to work with it and when I close PGO I go back and re-zip the newer file. It would be one of those "nice to have" things.

Tammi,

If you're using WinXP (probably even in Win2k) you can make the folder that contains the group databases a Compressed folder to save space:

  • In My Computer (or Windows Explorer) right-click on the folder containing the databases and select Properties
  • Click onthe Advanced... button
  • Check the box that says Compress contents to save disk space and then OK twice to close these dialogs.
Voila. Instant compression without the extra step (and time) of ZIPing and UNZIPing them.
