I wish there was a way for the PG Offline to open links using my default browser.  It is not IE. I've looked for an option, but have yet to find it.

Thanks
Lorraine

Lorraine,

I think you might be able to set that within Windows rather than PGO.

I'll ask Alex.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Lorraine,

I have found instructions for setting default browsers on a web site:

smart explorer v6.0: options > preferences > miscellaneous > set smart explorer as the default browser

opera v6.03: file > preferences > default browser > check to see if opera is the db

netscape v6+: refer to herehttp://www.coolware.com/switch/change.html

This is assuming you haven't already done this !

Cheers,

Wilson.

Wilson,

I have set it within my browser (Firefox).  Almost every other application opens Firefox.  I can't think of the other exception right now, but I'm thinking it was a MS product and I am probably stuck with that forever.

I'm running WinXP and I went to the Set Program Access and Defaults, and made changes there from a custom setup to a non-microsoft setup.  I restarted PGO, and it still opens IE.  Windows didn't ask for a restart, but perhaps it might make a difference.    I'm in the middle of a large download and do not want to restart the computer right now.  However, I'm thinking I did that in that past and it still didn't work.

When my download completes, I'll restart the computer and get back with you.

Thanks.

Well, this is strange.  I checked once last night before I went to bed, and it opened Firefox.  However, I just now clicked on Support from the Help menu and it opened IE and now all links are opening in IE.

Does that make any sense?  I'm beginning to wonder if it really did open Firefox last night when I thought it did.  How strange.

I'll play some more.

OK.  I rebooted.
Both links from messages and the support link open in Firefox.

If I have an open IE window, the links open IE.  Close the IE window and open another link, and Firefox opens.

This could just be some kind of fluke on my system.  Now I can consistently open links in Firefox unless I have an IE window open.

That's good enough for me at this point.  It's better than when I started out yesterday.  Changing from Custom to non-MS seems to have helped.  I'll have to test it out on my laptop tomorrow.

Thanks for your time.

Lorraine,

I'm using firefox and PGO at the moment and support and links open in firefox as they should.

Mark
