Hi All,

There is a new optional update:

http://www.pgoffline.com/groupmanager/pgpatch25021.exe

You need to tick 'Use selected sort order for new message show' in File--> Options --> Miscellaneous if you want new messages to be sorted into the group. Otherwise they will be tagged on at the end. Choosing this option slows your download as PGO has to merge/sort new messages into the group on the fly.

Another new feature is the ability to set a warning when your database reaches a certain size.

As you can see in the screenshot below you need to tick the 'Show database full warning at' option in File--> Options --> Miscellaneous.

To reduce database size you should use the File--> Compact Database option.

Version 2.5.21
- Now sort order will be saved independently for each of the groups

Version 2.5.20
- Ability to show new messages using current sort order was added

Version 2.5.19
- Database size warning was added
- Compact database feature was added
- Groups setting can be opened using double click on the group name now
- Outlook shutdown bug was fixed

Version 2.5.18
- Save sort order feature was added

Cheers,

Wilson.

Many thanks - it's nice :)  Are you planning to save the position of each group too? Or my "open at New" alternative? Jeremy.

Jeremy,

Sorry I meant to email you about that. Its not practical. Have a look at the screen shot & you'll see why.

Which 'new' message should we start at?

Cheers,

Wilson.

Which 'new' message should we start at?

Hmm! To me as a user it's obvious - the oldest New message. In other words, I want to read the oldest message that I haven't read yet. And I don't want to fiddle about scrolling to somewhere near the end of the file when I have nearly 25000 messages and the scroll bar works to the nearest 1000!

When a new message arrives, PGO puts it in one of two places: (a) at the end, or (b) in its proper "sorted" place (since v19). All was simple before v19 as I could have answered "start at the first New message". Now I can see it is much harder.

I give up!! I shall just have to leave PGO showing only New messages, and then switch to showing all when I need to see older ones (which is quite often, as I need to look back at the threads).

Sorry to have bothered you with my crazy needs! By the way, how do you use PGO? Jeremy.

We could add the option to re-position the cursor at the last read message.

Cheers,

Wilson.

(Hastily, before offer is withdrawn) I'll take that. Thank you very much.
