I have been running PGO as a service on Win2000 server using FireDaemon to encapsulate the executable as a service.  Until the latest patch, it worked great.  I had it set to update every hour.  The new version just won't start.  It runs fine as a normal app, but when FireDaemon starts it, nothing happens.  It shows that it's running, but no updates, no log writes.

Hi Jeff,

The developer mailed me about your problem. He says:

"In the latest release the database name is shown in the main window caption in "- [databasename]" format. It is possible that FireDemon does something with window captions, and for example has a problem if "[" is present in caption.

Why are you starting PGO as a system service?"
