Odd that you can download it & not me.

How is everyone finding attachment functionality in the current version (4.0.821)?

In PG Offline go to "File" -> "Open Data file"
Look in the "Attachment" folder, a sub folder will have been created for all your groups with attachments you have downloaded. If you look in these folders you will find all the message attachments which have been successfully downloaded.

What do you find?

Well, I've got bugger all. 

Attachments downloading is not working for me.

Obviously this is in the 'to do' list.  Its after the Refresh problem and fixing Import / Export.

Below is my log from hobbicast_coffee_lounge from 11201 on using r821.

It 'sees' attachments in 11228 & 11232 but does not download them.

However there are attachments in 11266 & 11269 that it doesn't see.

Some more work required..

I only have attachments from the "tyneside_northumberland" group from downloads on 29 January, nothing from Siddeley!

Below is my log from hobbicast_coffee_lounge from 11201 on using r821.

For me it was essentially unchanged from the earlier version, so what ever is blocking attachment download appears to be reasonably consistent, even if it is different for different people / download locations
Of the 30 attachments in hobbicast_coffee_lounge detected by PGO4, 12 files are stored in the download directory for me

The 5 images PGO4 did download were

Non image downloads were also the same as earlier for me.

Here's my latest attempt at Attachments download (below). As you can see it is unchanged.

Can I ask you to do the same download and post the status messages you get here?

Its Hobbicast_coffee_lounge: 11201 - 11269.  You will have to delete these messages before downloading them again.

BTW is File downloading working for you?

“Download Photos” appeared to work well, no error messages and all images readable (14 folders, 91 jpg files)

“Download Files” appeared to work creating 4 folders and multiple files (9 + 53 in PGOffline directory) but all files were 64 bytes and unreadable

Yes, that's similar to what I'm seeing. Attachments download is variable, photos works fine and in my case, Files don't download at all but I have reports from other of what you see (files download but only 64 bytes long).

Just though I should check terminology re attachments, photos and files

With attachment, it is specifically with larger images I have trouble, either one large attached image or multiple smaller images attached to a message.
If the large image or multiple small images are put in a document (eg PDF, Word, Powerpoint etc) then the attached file is reliably downloaded by PGO4

This is different to the functionally achieved when using the menu options:
PG Offline 4 -> Group -> Download files
PG Offline 4 -> Group -> Download photos
