This first message is using version 4.0.800.283 on a NEO'd group.

I started downloading messages and all seemed to be going well.  After about 45 minutes I got locked out of Yahoo for a couple of hours.  I had set the program to 75 msgs/minute, but it didn't work.  I tried changing the options to Repeat, Initial delay=0,Download=300, and Wait=10, but couldn't save the settings.  After contacting Wilson, he replied quickly:
"BTW It might be prudent to wait for a later version. This version is a 'get you home' version and nothing is warranted to be working apart from vanilla message downloading."  He also suggested starting a thread here for keeping up with the tweaks and testing.

I'm going to try to get some more posts, but will be more careful of how many I get at once.

Files and Photos show no items found.

I tried changing Group Settings to start at a certain post number and stop 100 posts later.  The first part worked fine, but it immediately started trying to get the rest of the posts, so I hit Stop (which worked).  Looks like I'll need to only download while I can watch the program.  At least I can retrieve them, if somewhat slowly.

Hi.  I'm Dan and working on the development of PGO.

Thanks for the feedback.

The Neo format is forcing us to use one call to Y per message.   I'm looking to see if there is an alternative way to load more per call.

The files and photos are not working with Neo yet.

Thanks for doing this, Dan.  I've got other ways to get files and photos for now, so the messages are really the important part.

I'm not sure how "easy" it would be to add, but having the time when I stop the downloads would be very handy, for now.  I've been waiting 30 minutes to an hour after getting batches and could use that as a reminder of when I last stopped.  I get a bit sidetracked sometimes. (grin)

Thanks,
Duane

Glad to help out.

Regarding 'waiting 30 minutes', wouldn't the repeat functionality already built-in perform that function automatically for you?

Yes, Repeat would do that if it worked properly.  I had originally set it up to Speed limit at 75 msgs/minute.  Now it won't let me change to Repeat.

Duane

BTW, I reduced the Speed to 30 msgs/minute, but it still runs at full speed.

Ok thanks!

The first small download went well (like others I could not access files or photos). I started a larger download and I think I was locked out. I now get a (500) Internal Server Error. I can still read yahoo groups online so it only seems to be impacting PG Offline. I ran into the same problems adjusting download speed and not being able to change to Repeat.

I am so happy you folks are working on this.

I've been getting about 2,000 posts, then stopping for an hour before getting 2,000 more.  So far I haven't been locked out again.  I think I was at about 2,400 when I was locked.  I'm going to try cutting the delay to 30 minutes and see what happens.  I've got 39k of 142k on one group.

Hi Duane,

Introduce some friends in your group to PGO and ask them to help. If there's a few of you doing this it will go much faster.

Remember you can use "File--> Export to Folder" to share messages you have already downloaded.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hello,

using the trial version 4.0.800.283 currently (it shows 4.1 under Help / About) my settings are:
Automatic refresh every 1 h 05 min, limited to 2.300 messages. That works fine.
With a delay of less than 1 hour, I'm blocked  after 60 messages during the follow-up log in.

If you do not limit the # of messages, you are blocked exactly after 2.360 messages (at least by Yahoo.de)

Please have a look at this thread for a discussion of the Yahoo download limit:
