I saw in another thread in 2006 you mentioned something about doing a manual import, but I'm not sure what that means.

Can copy messages into Excel, but the formatting is way off and would take considerable effort to manipulate into a flat file for import into Access.

Is there a more automated method perhaps?

With regards to message http://www.personalgroupware.com/smf/index.php?topic=826.0, that also might provide a means for getting messages from other list serves into PG offline.

I subscribe to several lists in various formats, and once in Outlook they are all consistent.

One useful tool is the statistical analysis built into PG Offile.

Nice to see that things have stabilized though. Keep our fingers crossed that Yahoo doesn't change formats any time soon.

Sometimes I just don't look hard enough - I found part of an answer here:

https://kb.iu.edu/data/agnu.html

The export defaults to the "My documents" folder

A first run trial indicates that I didn't get everything I want yet, for example when viewed in an outlook folder the messages from a list show the actual sender, and when the message is opened the "From:" information shows as being the list itself followed by the actual sender. The sender as exported to Access is just the listserver name.

In any case, once the desired elements are in Access, it should be as simple as making the field names match what PG Offline uses, then copying from one MDB file to another, shouldn't it?

Hi Scott,

There's a way to import attachments from Outlook inot PGO but not messages. The assumption is that you can get group messages via email or/and via PGO.

I'd never thought to import messages from anouther group format via Outlook to PGO.

Interesting idea though.

Cheers,

Wilson.
