Really, really slow

I have a group with ~120,000 messages.  I'm one of the moderators (trying to archive these in case we elect to move some day).
First 60,000 messages went great - a couple of days, one lockout.  Now I'm struggling just to get a couple of thousand a day.  Message rate is on the order of 10/min, asking for 5 at a time (which was all I was getting before I changed from 150 to 5).  I tried using the Delay function - no difference.
PGO Lite (trying to see if it will really work), Vista home premium 64 bit hp laptop (quite new).

Here's a little more information:
If I shut down all other applications, I can get to 40 msg/min - much better.  I wonder if the first 60,000 or so were faster because they were mostly plain text back then? 
Another possibility is Norton Internet Security checks - but I disabled everything on it and it made no difference.

At least it looks like the end is possible now.

Hi Arne,

I think the most you get at a time is 30. I'm not sure why your message rate is falling. Throttling from the Yahoo end?

The cure for that is to get some friends, divvy up the remaining messages, get them all to download PGOLite and off you go.

Use the Export/Import feature to recreate the full file from the parts.
