I had tried to get them manually last night and it didn't work.

I tried it again this morning and it worked just fine.

Thanks.

Hi Joan,

OK. Must have been Yahoo playing about.

Glad to hear its working for you. And on IE8 at that!

Cheers,

Wilson.

Thanks to all who contributed to the solution.

I took the following steps:

1. Delete all Yahoo cookies (I do it with Ccleaner.exe, a freeware favorite)

2. Open PGO. Set PGO  options to disable automatic login. Close PGO.

3. Login manually with IE7.

4. With IE7 still running, open PGO and download messages.

So far, so good.

Cookie management works, for a while until you fumble and somehow create a cookie that Yahoo does not like. Then you run merrily along thinking that PGOffline is capturing everything, but it is not. The "invalid page" messages scroll up out of the window when subsequent non-private groups are read.

Could we get some sort of persistant flag or emailed warning when PGOffline encounters this error so that I know to go back and clear the cookies again?

Thanks,
Steve

I had this problem too, IE8 updated to end of july and NO more updates since is now working OK with other aplications as well.

Yahoo asks for answers to two questions, and only works if you answer these questions (preventing memeory loss for password! ?)

So I cannot see any PGO problem it is Yahoo playing with us forcing to answer these questions

Take care out there

I've been gathering messages on a dozen groups without problem, but a group added to a file kept giving the invalid page format message.

But when I start a new file, the group does not produce that message. The capture seems to proceed without problem.

On the surface, it looks like putting the new group in a new file solved the problem.

Hi Scott,

Could be coincidence but the way to test it is add the problem group back to the original database and try and download it. If it doesn't work try opening the new database which contains that group and try downloading. If it works in the new database and not in the old one then there is a problem we need to investigate.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Its possible its a login issue.

What groups can't you get?

A good test is to try and download a group that requires membership and one that does not

Email me at wilson.logan (at) ntlworld.com if you don't want to discuss your groups publically.

Cheers,

Wilson.
