Well, we're looking at the cause of the program hang in case its something we can fix now.

Anything else will have to wait & be tested after March 31st.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I oringinally had PG Offline v. 2.5.47, and I only used it to update the TIMEWAVEZERO2012 Yahoo Group. The last time I successfully received new messages was on March 2, 2009. I tried to update the messages (Receive Messages option) a few days ago, and I got something like this:

3/29/2009 3:30:05 PM >  Set group's info (TIMEWAVEZERO2012)
3/29/2009 3:30:05 PM >  Authorization started
3/29/2009 3:30:07 PM >  Authorization accomplished
3/29/2009 3:30:07 PM >  Request number of messages
3/29/2009 3:30:08 PM >  Number of messages : 18202
3/29/2009 3:30:08 PM >  Receive message : 18103
3/29/2009 3:34:08 PM >  Error : Invalid page format.
3/29/2009 3:34:08 PM >  Receive message : 18104
3/29/2009 3:37:56 PM >  Error : Invalid page format.
3/29/2009 3:37:56 PM >  Receive message : 18105
3/29/2009 3:39:11 PM >  Time out. Receive stop.
3/29/2009 3:41:48 PM >  Error : Invalid page format.

Then it times out.

I upgraded to v. 3.0.67, but I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Jim.

Hi Jim,

We think its this:

If there's anything we can meaningfully do before March 31st we're looking at that now.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Now that I found this thread I see why my last successful download was March 23. It's times like these that I remember why I bought PGOffline to begin with, and I'm willing to wait for this excellent tool to be usable again.

The only thing I can add is that pgoffline25 pegs my CPU usage when trying to download, and the screen display is hung on the number of messages.

Best of luck with the update.

Hi Scott,

I'm glad to report that we've solved that issue but there are also format changes which we need to sort before we can release a new version.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I just found this yesterday..I was wondering why I couldn't receive any messages. I assume this is because Yahoo is changing to something new? Could you post something to let others know what is happening? Or did Imiss it? Thanks..Keithmj

Hi Keith,

Yahoo have made changes. We're creating a patch now.

I sent out a broadcast email a couple of days ago.

Did you get it?

Cheers,

Wilson.

Wilson,

If by 'broadcast' you mean everyone registered on the forum, or a customer who purchased PGO .....

I didn't see a recent email .... although, it's possible I missed it ...

Thanks for your efforts on problem, and the patch ... I'm looking forward to it.

Very funny Jim.

No we're not out of business, just struggling a bit with the technology.

Alex, the guy who wrote PGO (or to be accurate, was on the original team) maintained PGO until about 2 years ago. About 3 years ago he re-wrote the parser program in VC++ using Regexs. Now, I know neither VC++ nor Regexs. 2 years ago I got a new developer after Alex left and he doesn't know VC++ or Regexs either. PGO is written predominantly in VB. I actually think Alex re-wrote the parser because he wanted to learn VC++.

Anyway, the consequence was, when Yahoo made their changes we needed to change the parser and we don't know how. I got in a friend with VC++ & Regex experience but he was badly hurt in a car crash so we're back to learning VC++ & Regexs ourselves.

So, sorry for the delay.

Cheers,

Wilson.
