Hi Wilson,

I seem to be getting IPF errors with 4 of my groups.  They are aerovee, sonexcanada, sonexplans and sonextalk.  I'm using Vista.  Things were working okay but suddenly stopped a couple of days ago.  Any thoughts?

Regards
Dave

Hi Dave,

PG Offline uses the cached login information from Internet Explorer to login automatically to your groups. For public groups which do not require membership it does not use this info.

I am prepared to bet that the groups which are working for you are public groups. The ones which don't work are private groups. Try logging on to any of these private groups using IE. After that PG Offline will find the cached login info.

Alternatively you can make PG Offline login to each and every group, every time by clearing the 'Skip Authorisation' flag in File--> Options--> Workflow.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi Wilson,

Thanks!  That was the correct solution.  I turned off skip authorization and the messages all came down without getting an IPF error.

Thanks again.

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm glad that worked for you.

I am also getting Invalid Page Format errors.

I am consistently able to get msgs. 1-3510, but 3511 (or any start point above that) reports "Invalid Page Format", then the next and subsequent msgs report "Message xxxx not exist."

Here's the relevant chunk of the log file:

2008-11-30 1:32:18 AM >  Set group's info (SoARBoardofDirectors)
2008-11-30 1:32:18 AM >  Authorization skipped
2008-11-30 1:32:19 AM >  Request number of messages
2008-11-30 1:32:21 AM >  Number of messages : 5276
2008-11-30 1:32:21 AM >  Receive message : 3511
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Error : Invalid page format.
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Receive message : 3512
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Error : Message 3512 not exist.
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Receive message : 3513
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Error : Message 3513 not exist.
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Receive message : 3514
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Error : Message 3514 not exist.
2008-11-30 1:32:22 AM >  Receive message : 3515
etc.

This is 3.0.51 running on Vista

-----------------------------------------------------------
next day, same command read all.  No idea why.
It just affected that one group. With another group I was able to download all ~6000 msgs.
Then, the next day, went back to the previous group and read the remainder.

How odd...

People have reported intermittant 'Message not exist' problems. Yahoo do experiment with formats and then change them back but you'd expect a string of 'Invalid Page Format' errors rather than  'Message not exist' .

Cheers,

Wilson.
