I am on 2.5.34 and on the groups that I have tried all I am getting in the message subject is and html image tag. The body of the messages are fine, but useless unless you want to read every one to figure out what it is about. Here is the HTML out of the database:
<img src="http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/yg/img/ui/sendemail.gif" width="12" height="12" alt="Send Email"> Send Email

BTW, I have tried e-mailing to the support address and to your address directly and they all bounce. Both are address that I have used previously.

Hi Tim,

This *looks* like something we're already seen, but the HTML looks different. I'll email you about getting me some test data.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I've got one group that seems to be mixing header formats.  I'll email a copy to you Wilson.

I had this same problem w/ 25036.exe . . .

I turned of the message cache and all was fine.  Turned on cache, problem returned.  Turned off cache, all was fine again.  Did not do it again because I was feeling pretty stoopid.

Its an OK solution if you'#re not DL'ing much. 'Caching off' will only let you DL about 200 - 300 messages before Yahoo bumps you.

I'm working on a full solution but this will work if you've got some smaller groups already up to date with low traffic.

Cheers,

WIlson.

Hey Wilson,
Fortunately, msg format is ok with all my groups, but my d/l speeds recently dropped to about 12/minute!!! And that's with caching on! Before, I was  getting speeds in the upper hundreds per minute.

So after reading this thread, I thought I'd try it with caching off... guess what? My d/l speed increased to about 60/minute!! (slow, but IIRC, this is about what I used to get before you implemented the cache).

As you guys work on the format changes, I thought this tidbit of information might be helpful. If others experience the same behavior, then it obviously makes no sense to use caching until this is all sorted out.

Hi David,

Thanks for that. I think Warren is having the same trouble. I will tell him about your experience and will look into this further after I've fixed the format problem.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Any movement on getting this error fixed? 2.5.037 caused this problem in both cached and standard modes. So I had to revert to 2.5.036 and use only standard mode. This is severely limiting my ability to get all the groups I watch.

Seems like this one is dragging on.

Sorry Tim,

Alex has had some personal things to do but he's now back on the case. I'm hoping for a patch very shortly (ie. next 48hrs).

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hey  :D, turning off message caching works for me in 2.5.037 (at least in one group)!

I've got several groups, however, that show either "no message" (even when their is one) or "invalid page format" (when the message looks fine).

But maybe this will let me selectively download some groups...

Hi Linda,

Is .036 any better for you?

Cheers,

Actually, .037 has been working fine (with caching off).  I've just been downloading 100 messages at a time (for the groups I really care about).

They do not seem to have the illegitimate "missing message" or "invalid page format" that I was seeing with caching on.  And the subject are showing up the way I expect.

By the way, I did notice the other day that yahoo seems to be downloading subscribers in "date" order rather than alphabetic as they used to.  Not sure if you guys had noticed this or not.

For me on the 2 groups I tried (TaigTools, SherlineCNC) .037 produced html in the subject in both cache and un-cache mode. The HTML was different each way, but with both there were no usable subjects in these groups. With .036 The subjects are fine on these two groups if I do not use caching, but produce HTML if catching is turned on.

Anxiously waiting a patch!!

lklawrie

Tim,

I see that both those groups have public archives.  None of the groups I'm downloading successfully with .037 do.  Not sure if there's a cause and effect there but Wilson might be interested.

Hi Linda,

Thanks for that. I shall investigate!
