I agree with all...

  • New Yahoo Groups GUI is Phewy

  • PGO is the savior
The new Yahoo Groups could be a real boon for PGO... I see Wilson smiling back there... at least he will be once the patch is out.

Thanks for the speedy issue of the Beta patch for new format pages.

It has worked fine on the groups to which I belong

Hi Tammy,
With PGO, there's little reason to use the yahoo interface, other than to post or review web content such as files and photos

I can't help but to feel relieved that I have pgo as my primary method of interacting with my groups.
My 2 cents...

David,

Most of the I use PGO or Outlook to interact with yahoogroups, too. I have no problems there. Where the problem (i.e. grumbling:) ) comes in is that when I do web design and graphics for fellow artists and I have Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Firefox open at the same time.  I do not have the PC resources to open another program. Not even a small one. My system "chokes" if I do..

So, when I want a break I just go to the yahoogroups in Firefox. It saves time and resources. Although with the new layout of messages - I'm not so sure about the saving time part. Who knows maybe it's divine intervention of some sort telling me to stop goofing off when I'm supposed to be working:p

When I'm not "working" I use PGO as my main source of interaction between the groups that are mega-high-volume and outlook for the groups I own and  moderate.

David,

Interesting to hear you work, normally, through PGO. I would, if I could get the 'Answer mail' function to work effortlessly - but I can't. Which email program do you use? I mostly use Pegasus, perhaps that's the problem.

Hi Denos,
I use OE6. I would think you could use Pegasus without a problem. I think pgo just calls the default email program and passes the email address of whichever group is currently active. Have you got "Use external mail client" checked on the Mail tab (File/Options)?

However, when using OE6 with PGO, quoting is not supported, so I still rely on Yahoo's online interface when responding to group messages. (I always quote a portion of the message I'm responding to.)

I recently disccoved PGO's internal mail client now supports quoting. However, it doesn't support authentication so I can't use it. Here's a thread on this issue:
