Hi all,

I am a newbee to PG Offiline using the last trial version
One of my Yahoo Groups want to create a paralell Google Group, due to the lack of search facilities by Yahoo, but as I know we only can forward a group of selected messages or choose them one by one.

But, what we woul like to have, is to have an option to forward a group of messages or all of them individually, without to have to choose them one by one.  ???

A very hard work, if you have some thousends of messages in your group. If my question is stupid, I apologize

Regards,

Hi Pablo,

This is a popular request. I think Tammi already mentioned this. She tells me that it is not possible even in Outlook.

The mail facility in PG offline was not written by us, but was bought as a third party module. This means that we get the features that exist in the module & no more. Because we have not written it, we cannot modify it to make it do more. Eventually we will write our own mail facility but this may be years from now.

BTW I can convert your Yahoo group to a phpBB forum (like this one) but you would have to host it on your own server (costs about $45/year).

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hello Wislon,

thank you for your quick and kind answer.
I'll send your answer to the list administrator and he will take the decision about.

Have a nice time,
Pablo

Hi Pablo,

I think I have seen a discussion of whether phpBB can be configuered to send emails like a message list does, on the phpBB forum. I think there is a modification which can be loaded to phpBB to make it do this but you should check first.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Blast - just sent this as pm, meant to use public -
I've been working on this myself.  Tough nut to crack.

I've pulled all msgs down to PGOffline.

Now I am trying to find a way to import the MDB into another mail package.  I've imported directly into Outlook, but the HTML doesn't come through properly.

Do a search on Google for "gmail upload" and you'll see a utility that can transfer all of your mail (from several diff formats) up to a GMail account.  You would then have the auto-forward set to send everything to your Google Group.

The GMail upload utility doesn't work with Outlook directly; you have to go through an intermediate step like Thunderbird, etc - check the instructions for the uploader & you'll see what formats you can use.

Seems like as soon as I can get the email to drop all the HTML, I'm home free.  Takes a couple of steps, but is worth it to have everything sitting in GMAIL and/or Google Groups.

Let me know if you've had any similar success.

Just so long as you're the group owner. People might take a pretty dim view of seeing their groups appearing suddenly in different formats all over the web :)

Cheers,

Wilson.
