I manage the PhillyFreecycle group and publish monthly activity stats. Our group (both membership & activity) has grown a lot recently and I'm therefore  trying out PG Offline.

Just brought down msgs from another similar (but smaller) group (NEPhillyFreecycle), and toyed with your app; here's what I see missing (hoping someone will tell me otherwise!):
. ability to search by date, then by subject
. ability to delete multiple downloaded msgs (I select several, but the Delete option under Message is greyed out)
. ability to delete multiple web msgs; I'd like to give Yahoo a list and say: Go delete.

Hi,

>. ability to search by date, then by subject

Yahoo sometiems does not store dates or the dates are wrong. What we may add is 'Search between two message numbers' which woul come to the same things. Basically we'd add two fields in the Search dialogue... From #  and To #  where you can enter bounding message numbers.

>. ability to delete multiple downloaded msgs (I select several, but the Delete option under Message is greyed out)

To delete messages, highlight them & right click, then choose delete. This only works in the main message window, not in a Search. What your looking at in a search is a temporary result table.

We're not part of Yahoo or anything to do with them so I'm afraid I can't offer that feature.

BTW you can sort the messages in the main wndow by clicking on any heading e.g. Subject, Author, Date, etc. Handy if you want to delete messages by one person or from one date to another. Watch out for dodgy dates though!

Cheers,

Wilson.

'Search between two message numbers' - this sounds great. I look forward to testing it.

search results in temporary result table - that's too bad that i can't delete from within a searched list.

thanks for the quick response; i'll return to evaluating it for our needs. -meenal

It sounds bad but in reality why would a mod or owner want to delete messages?

1) because of the author... solution, sort main messages by Author

2) a flame war... solution, sort by Subject

3) obsolete posts... solution sort by Date

BTW if you're interested in Stats, you'll be wanting to use the Statistics Builder feature in the View menu.

Cheers,

Wilson.
