I can not download my groups any longer, when I try I get the following error :

error: invalid login or password

Using internet explorer I went to my yahoogroups page and as I tried to login a new login page appeared, one in which I am asked to type a word shown in a distorted picture below the login fields.

Is there a way around this ?

I am using the latest patch with windows xp.

           Thanks,

                       Ulisses

Ulisses,

I'm downloading, right now. I didn't have any trouble with log in. I have seen a change in Yahoo's screen, but I haven't had to type in the confirmation word, yet.

Hi Ulisses,

I go this problem yesterday also. I am now able to login to Yahoo without problems. They appear to be testing this new system.

Or... it says... we require you to log in after 5 failed attempts to login.

Is your username & password in File--> Master Login correct?

My username & password is correct but I still see this screen. I do have a group on my list which no longer exists in Yahoo & I haven't removed it from my Refresh list yet. I wonder if the failed attempts to login to that group count against me & this why I ocassionaly see the picture coded login screen.

What is your experience?

Cheers,

Wilson.

George,

I suppose they started this new policy with a few of us. I still can not download and I keep getting the "type the word you see in the picture below" screen when I get there with a browser.

The exact words used by yahoo when I try to login with internet explorer are:

"Login Failed.
Please use the correct password and type the word you see in the picture below."

Wilson,

I have been unable to download for the past 6 days.

>>Is your username & password in File--> Master Login correct?

Yes, it is. It is the same one I use when I try to log in through internet explorer. I sent a print screen of that page to pgoff@pgoffline.com.

After this damned "type the word you see in the picture below" 0 downloads. I am still receiving emails though.

Could I create a new yahoo id, change my pgoffline master login and try to download with this new id without creating havoc in my already downloaded databases ?

thanks,

Ulisses

Ulisses,

Strange.

>Could I create a new yahoo id, change my pgoffline master login and try to download with this new id without creating havoc in my already downloaded databases ?

Thats a great idea. It should work seamlessly. For existing groups, you'll need to join all your groups again under your new user id & you'll need to alter the Group Logon tab in Group Settings for every existing group. I hope you're not a member of too many groups :(

Maybe try it with one existing group just to see if it works.

BTW if it does work & you go down that route, can I have your old Id to do testing with? Our problem is that we only see this problem very ocassionally. An Id where we can see it all the time would be very handy.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I just started using PG Offline today.  The group I'm attempting to download has 17924 messages.  After #986 it came back and said "Error: You were locked by yahoo."  Does this mean my IP will never work with downloading again, or will Yahoo unlock me at some point so that I can continue downloading?

TIA,
Idaho

Hi Idaho,

The Yahoo download limit has been discussed in *great* detail here

http://pgoffline.com/forum/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=17

To answer your question though... you'll be allowed back onto Yahoo in anything from 2 to 24 hours. See the other thread for why.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I am trying out PG Online at the recommendation of a member of one Yahoo group to which I belong.

I cannot get into Yahoo with the program.  It gives me an "invalid login or password" message.   I looked at the other messages in several threads and didn't find an answer.  Like most of those people, I have checked the spelling numerous times and have logged into Yahoo from the browser about 5 times today.  I haven't changed my username or password with Yahoo in months.

When I skip authorization, it gives me an "invalid page format" error message.  I did check and the group's messages start with #1 and move forward from there sequentially.  I also tried starting a higher numbers with no change in result.

Help or directions to helpful threads will be appreciated.  I use Netscape 7.2, never IE.

Hi Sam,

Can you please check to see that you're running the latest version (2.5.024).

If you are running 2.5.024 then please send me a full screenshot of the problem you're having. My email is wilson.logan (at) ntlworld.com

If you don;t have the latest version, a patch exists here:

http://www.pgoffline.com/groupmanager/pgpatch25024.exe

Thanks,

Wilson.
