Hi Folks,
I got the trial yesterday and although I can find my group and download the 1000 posts before Yahoo disconnects, when I try to download to my computer all I get in the pop out box is ROOT and nothing else, also I know my group is dead so there are no new posts do I need to unclick "only show new posts"?
Thanks,
Noel

"when I try to download to my computer"

What does that mean?

When you use Export to folder?   When you use Export Messages ?

What are you doing in the program when you get the problem?

Thanks!

Wilson.

Thank you for your quick reply. "when I try to download to my computer" means that I would like to download the postings that have been found by PG Offline from my Yahoogroups to a folder on my laptop when I click on files ,List I was getting ROOT but no postings, this morning when I run it I get a message stating no posts found?
Thanks,
Noel

The files are all in the ROOT folder.

PGO lists the folders the files are in.

Not the sub-folders.

So if someone has chosen to put all the files in one folder called ROOT then that is all you will see.

I have seen this myself on a small number of my groups.  I agree that it is disconcerting.

However if you make sure that the ROOT folder is selected and you then choose the Download option, the files will be downloaded.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I think there may be a confusion here between posts and files. The posts visible in PGO have already been downloaded to the computer. They can be exported and saved in a different format though.

Files are the files (eg music, images) which members of the group have uploaded to it apart from messages. They can also be downloaded, as per Wilson’s instructions.

ok, so choosing the ROOT folder and clicking download will download the files but where does it down them too? I have searched my computer and cannot find anything.
If the posts visible in PGO have already been downloaded where have they been downloaded too?
Thanks,
Noel

I have followed that path before posting my question but no files there:

Files go to C:/Users/<your_user_name>/AppData/Local/PG Offline 4/Files/

Wilson Logan

That's where they are unless:

1) You installed somewhere other than C:

2) You changed Group Settings -- > Folder settings.

3) There are no files.

Do  you know the name of even one file (even roughly?).

Do a windows search for the file.

Cheers,

Wilson.
