Attachments not downloaded

In looking over everything, I notices the few attachments in the Yahoo group were not downloaded.  I attempted to do a refresh, making sure PGO attachment downloads were enabled, but the attachments were not downloaded.

Any way to get the attachments downloaded?

Thanks in advance.

PGO can only  get what YG! serves.

If YG! does not serve the attachments, PGO cannot get them.

Sorry!

You should simply try again at intervals.  Sometimes I can get all attachments, sometimes none!

Hi Wilson.

If I view the Yahoo messages in a browser, the attachment is visible.  I don't know if this means it is being served by Yahoo.

Should a PGO group refresh be expected to pick up attachments for messages already downloaded?

Thanks in advance.

PGO throws an error if the attachment is missed.

It'll say something like..

File failed to download... <...> The remote server returned an error: (500) internal server error.

500 means it wasn't found by YG.  Probably because the web service YG requested the image from was overloaded.

IIRC PGO does create the link in the database so if you manually saved the file and added it to the Attachments folder, PGO should link it up to the correct message.

Wilson.

OK.  When I was trying to do the message/files/photos/etc. downloads, I had a lot of problems because PGO did not have the permissions to access the target folders.  I tried changing the ownership of the folders to be that of the account from which I was running PGO.  It did not have any success.  The only way I could get the files/photos/etc. (not the messages which had succeeded) was to run PGO as Administrator.  This isn't a big problem because I'm my own ISP and have all access to all the systems.

Anyway, the failures have have left some "stuff" laying around which is still causing problems.  One thought would be to delete the local copy of the message with the attachment and then have PGO refresh to download the message again.

If you think it is worth a try, I could also get rid of all the local information and then run PGO again as administrator.

I should point out, I believe the permission issue is with "Windows", not PGO.

That sounds like a sensible course of action.

Make a backup of everything in the PGO folder as a precaution.

OK.  Here is what I did.

I uninstalled  the PGO software and made sure everything was cleaned up.

Installed the latest PGO software, and before I added any groups, I moved the database to a location to which I have access.

I added the various Yahoo groups, and set the options for each group so the folders were sub-directories of the folder containing the database.

Then I started downloading everything.

With the exception of an attachment or two not downloaded, everything went fine.

So I'm all set.

Thank you for your help (and software :-)
