Wilson - I checked.
If Skip Auth. is off I continue to get IPF errrors  (Master Login info is correct)

Like the others, I got things to work by
- clearing the IE cookies and cache
- logging into Yahoo (either standard or secure - but with the "remember my ID" box checked - this seems to be the key)
-  leaving that session run
- starting up PGO with "Skip Auth" enabled

No more IPF and I'm back up to date.

Wilson,

I checked, too. For over two weeks I've been checking and unchecking everything in PGO 2.5.40 (I'm running Winxp) I've tried Skip authorization  both off and on and I was getting IPF regardless of what I did.

I had tried this once, but I did not understand that you did not have to delete i.e's cache and cookies, so it didn't work. Well, I just tried it, and everything is working like a charm.

Is it possible that the problem is within PGO? I'm not a programmer so I'm probably the last person that should be guessing :)

Hello All

I'm new here, and first would like to express my appreciation to Wilson for all his individual email support to date.  (Much of that was probably necessitated by my hard-drive problems.)  I really like PG Offline and recommend it wherever I can, plus the support is invaluable.  A couple of days ago I had some major engineer-clean up work undertaken on the hard disk.  One of the problems was that the temporary folders were extremely full.  So these were cleared entirely.

The day after I experienced message download problems, and Wilson referred me to this thread.

Yesterday I followed the advice given here, opened IE, logged into Yahoo!, and only  *then* did I try to download messages.   All worked fine!   Didn't want to prematurely count chickens, so waited until this morning.  No need to open IE or log into Yahoo! Everything as per normal!

Take care, people +
Best Wishes

I don't have "skip authorization" checked.

I cleared my IE cache and cookies, though I have *never* used IE to access Yahoo!Groups.

I still have the same error message.

Until you take all of the steps that have been listed, you will continue to get the error message.

Clear IE cache and cookies. (You may not have to do this again, but it doesn't take that long to do.)
Login to Yahoo groups using IE with the "Remember my ID on this computer" option checked in the login box.
Check (turn it on) Skip Authorization in PGO.

I'm still getting the same error too. >:( ???

Please try the new patch:

Well, I'm on FireFox 1.06 (haven't used IE in quite a while).  I tried a workaround Wilson emailed me about some time ago:

1. Uninstall PG Offline
2. Manually delete [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program
Settings\PG Offline] from the registry. You can use Start--> Run-->
regedit to edit the registry.
3. Re-install PG Offline back to the same folder.

I did this, did a computer restart, then registered PGO again.  It worked!

Thats exactly right. PGO uses your cached login details. If you clear your cache or it expires then you'll need to re-login.

Or you could just switch Skip Authorisation off permanently.

Cheers,

Wilson.

The patch hasn't changed a thing for me. If I turn off "skip authorisation," I get the IPF errors. If I'm not currently signed in to Yahoo!Groups in IE, I get the IPF errors even with "skip authorisation."

I've done the whole clearing of cache/cookies/etc. for IE, of course. That's quite the nuisance, as I have to go back to log in at sites I normally have cookied.

Since I've *never* used IE to read Yahoo!Groups (I don't read any of them at the site anyway), but I've been able to use PGO just fine in the past, I'm unclear as to why this is happening. I can't see Y!G changing something that makes me use IE - although I completely acknowledge that I do not know all that's going on "behind the scenes" when I log in.

Hi Cynthia,

If you are using 2.5.041 and you?ve never used IE as a browser for Yahoo then you should always have ?Skip Authorisation? switched off.

?Skip Authorisation? uses your cached login information from IE to log you on to Yahoo Groups. If this information is missing because you don?t use IE then an error will result if ?Skip Authorisation? is enabled.

With the new version &  ?Skip Authorisation? switched off you should have no trouble getting your messages.

If you?re still getting IPF errors, please email me a full screenshot of PG Offline when you get the error.

Thanks,

Wilson.

I have just downloaded the trial version (PG Offline 2.5.41) and am getting the error:

8/28/2005 5:40:21 PM >  Set group's info
8/28/2005 5:40:21 PM >  Authorization skipped
8/28/2005 5:40:22 PM >  Get group's list
8/28/2005 5:40:23 PM >  Error : Invalid page format.

I tried all the suggestions here.  Cleared cache and cookies in IE 6, even though I don't usually use IE.  Signed out, signed back in on IE and one of my groups is open.

I'm trying todownload my groups - have never gotten any further than the message in many attempts.  I've tried turning authorization off and on, etc.  Nothing seems to work.  Sometimes, I got the message that authenticated occurred.

I sent it to you, but haven't heard back yet.

I tried the "Add Group" to manually add my groups, and the messages started to download!!!
However, after about the 1st 15 or so, the program crashed with the message to report to Microsoft.  That has happened a few times now, then when I re-open the program, it starts up OK adn then downloaded the mesages from the group.  When I add a new group, same thing.
Can't get the "get groups" option to work at all, so I guess I have to add all my groups manually.

Y'all might just have to try what I did (see post #21).  It worked for me!

Barbara,

Are you running Win XP SP2?

This may be relevant:

Can you tell me what the Microsoft error dialog says or send me a screenshot of it?

Thanks,

Wilson.
