Hi Manfred,

Sorry, I'm still waiting on word from the developer.

Are you still able to download groups by using one of the workarounds?

Cheers,

Wilson.

Some of my groups download currently, and others with the same user ID haven't downloaded  for over a week.  I'm unable to see any setup reason why some work and some don't.

Wilson Logan

Can you give me an example of one that won't download?  Preferably a public group.

Cheers,

Wilson.

My main group <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vpFREE/>
hasn't downloaded for me since 26 MAY.

Hi Manfred,

I have DL'd messages from 43900 to present & mailed you the zipped archive file (355k).

Can someone else try joining  vpFREE

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vpFREE/

and try and DL some messages?

Cheers,

Wilson.

P.S. The vpFREE messages start at 7988.

I have 22 groups set up on PGO and I use the same user ID
and password on all of them. On about half of them, including
vpFREE, I haven't been able to download since 26 May - getting
the invalid page format message.

The other half are downloading OK, including some vpFREE sub
groups.

All of the groups are set up the same way on PGO.

Hi Manfred,

In a previous post you say:

'Some of my groups download currently, and others with the same user ID haven't downloaded  for over a week.  I'm unable to see any setup reason why some work and some don't. '

Just a thought... you are able to get some of your groups using one of your ID's with 'Skip Authorisation' turned ON (box is checked).

Now... the Skip Authorisation feature reads your browser cache to logon to Yahoo. Only one logon will be read from the cache i.e. the last ID you logged in with. Can you try logging in with the problem ID using your browser & then try using PGO to download?

Cheers,

Wilson.

I only use one ID for all of my 22 groups on PGO and I use the same ID for logging on to Yahoo (where I'm always logged on).

All groups are set up identically on PGO, and about half are downloading OK currently and the other half haven't downloaded since 26 May and give the invalid page format error message.

Very frustrating, and I'm spending a whole lot more time on this problem than I would like.

I'm having the same problem. All my groups download except one, geckodrive, which has not worked since May 29.

I use the same userid for all my groups and the settings are the same for each. I've tried all the work arounds but none of them help.

Hi Guys,

I'm now seeing this but sadly the developer is still experiencing no problems. However, now that I can produce test data for him to work with we might be able to move a bit quicker.

BTW Trench, I'll try and remember to DL & update the geckodrive archive, assuming I can still access the group.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I've tried the workaround and here's what I get:

6/9/2005 8:42:01 AM >  Authorization skipped
6/9/2005 8:42:02 AM >  Request number of messages
6/9/2005 8:42:03 AM >  Number of messages : 23878
6/9/2005 8:42:03 AM >  Receive complete

But no new messages are downloaded and my last download was on May 25 at message number 22956.

Any suggestions ??

Hi Warren,

Double click on the groupname in the group list. Click on Download Settings. Set the first message to download to 22956. Click OK. Click Start.

That should do it.

Wilson.

Trench,

I too am locked out of Geckodrive. I've forwarded test data along to the developer so we'll see what he can do.

Wilson.

More Wierdness,

I have  a group that generates an invalid page fault when I select that group manually and click get messages. No error is generated when I refresh all the groups.

Any progress on a patch for these issues?

On a related note, the status messages at the bottom scroll off the screen never to be seen again making it hard to debug these things.

Are they kept in a "status log" somewhwere?

Wilson Logan

Hi All,

There is a new patch (2.5.039) here:

Cheers,

Wilson.

OK, I have solved this "invalid page format" problem on my system. Of my 19 groups, six would not work and the rest were just fine.

I put a packet analyzer on my lan and had a look at the raw tcp stream. It turns out that the six groups that did not work were using a different login cookie than those that did. Strange as I use the same login and password for each group.

The way to solve this is to type the following link into the browser.

Replace the ***groupname*** with one of the groups than do not work. This should take you to a yahoo login page. Sign on as normal and the cookie will be updated. Now all my groups work just fine. I only had to do this once.

Even stranger is that if I went to groups.yahoo.com and clicked on that group before doing the fix above, I never had to log on but I could read the messages!!

I had the skip authorization checked in options -> workflow as per an earlier suggestion. If I unchecked that, I guess it may have solved the problem as well. I applied my fix before testing that.
