Greetings folks.

I'm wondering if anybody has gotten PG Offline running on WINE.  http://www.winehq.com

I'm currently running Ubuntu Linux Feisty 7.04 with Wine 0.9.46

I get the following error: Run time error '339'.  Component 'dhtmled.ocx' or one of it's dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I would like to hear from anybody who has gotten to any level of running of PG Offline on any version of WINE, and/or anybody who might know anything about this error or file.

thanks.  Maybe together we can figure out how to get this working.

It might be this:

Status update:

PGOffline (2.5.062) now SORT OF works under WINE (ubuntu 8.04 - wine version 1.0-rc3)

The program now boots/gets beyond the error code 339 mentioned above.  It displays and seems to operate like it should, EXCEPT I have not been able to get it to work right (doing all the groups loading/downloading like it's supposed to..)

So far the error is:

Error during loading groups list.
Error information: Object doesn't support this action

and of course the typical "invalid page format"

I have not yet experimented thoroughly, or checked the forums for more details.. any suggestions welcome.

Hi,

The invalid page format error is usually caused by an inability of the app to login. PGO either uses cached login info from IE or it uses your login info which you entered when you installed the program. There is a flag in File--> Options--> Workflow called 'Skip Authorisation'. If this flag is set PGO uses the cached IE info. If it is not set, it attempts to login using the details supplied by you.

So, to make sure there is cached info in IE, simply login to Yahoo using IE. If you'd rather that PGO attempt its own login, uncheck the 'Skip Authorisation' flag.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Nah, that doesn't work.

Also, you might want to watch how you phrase things... and what you offer as suggestions.. "simply login to Yahoo using IE" makes it sound like you weren't paying attention to the fact that I am trying to run PGOffline on LINUX via WINE, or that you don't know what these things are, and didn't bother to try to find out about them before answering.

Anyways, I did just install IE via IEs4Linux from http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page  but that didn't solve the problem either.

I also always thought this reliance on cached logins from IE is a flaw in the program/methodology.  Even when I was running windows, I *never* ran IE, and I've in the past had to run IE just to get around a login/page format error problem; if it HAS to rely on an external chached login/cookie the program should be expanded to accept such things from other browsers such as firefox and opera.

You can choose not to use the cached login by unchecking the 'Skip Authorization' checkbox. Then PGO uses the login details you supplied.

BTW you can add groups manually... Groups--> New Group.

Once you've done that you can attempt a download. I'm not sure what will happen at that point....

Cheers,

Wilson.
