Hi Wilson

WWW.curezone.com is a remarkable resourse forum dealing with "Education about alternative health INSTEAD of medicating". It is made up of many forums.Would it be at all possible for you to devise a way of being able to down load a desired forum in a similar manner to yahoogroups.

Sincerely
Malcolm

We will be working on adding functionality for downloading other forum formats in the future. The first two will probably be phpBB & vBulletin.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Thanx for the reply. May well be worth you while from a financial point of view, since they have literally tens of thousands of members, with lots of cross referencing going on, making PGO ideal.
Any idea of "when " in the future?

Cheers
Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

Actually yes. I'm just in the business of hiring a new guy to do just this.

Please list the forum formats you would like to see included (eg. vBulletin, phpBB, UBB, YabbSE, etc).

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi Wilson.

Thats really great news.

Im primarily interested in Curezone forum, in which there are many sub forums. The sub forums I would like access to are

Ask Barefoot
(http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=626)
Ask Moreless
(http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=740)
Liver Flush
http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=447

I would also appreciate being able to download the following forum onto my pg-offline, although its not curezone based
http://www.vegsource.com/talk/raw/index.html

Really looking forward to this exciting development.

Sincerely
Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

The Vegsource & Curezone forums use the same software so if we write a downloader for one it will work with the other.

However,  I am not able to identify the actual forum software being used (although I'm sure I've seen this being used elsewhere). Usually at the bottom of a forum there is a line indentifying the forum software being used but I didn't see it.

Can you please ask the forum owner or mod what software was used to create the forum? This is important as to make a downloader we need to install the forum software on our own server to test with it.

Thanks,

Wilson.

Have not heard from the webmaster himself, however here is an answer to our question.

Link below

> what software the CureZone.com is using to run this site?

It is custom made software. Most of it exists on CureZone only. We use some generic software like Image Gallery (an adaptation of iGallery 4.0) and FCK HTML editor and Tiny MCS HTML editor. The rest is custom made, including CureZone Search Engine, which at the moment is indexing 730,000 forum messages.

The sofware is not available for purchase. It was built for CureZone only.

Net Atlantic provides newsletter menagement software Lyris running on their own hardware.

Still awaiting feedback from Vegisource WM.

Hi Malcolm,

There's no way we could do a downloader that would only work on one site. Even if we wanted to, we don't have the software to see how it works. The thing about all these bulletin boards is that you can DL the software for free and install it on your own server and test with it.

So, sorry to be a wet blanket but it looks unlikely that we'll be able to do PG Offline for Curezone.

Cheers,

Wilson.
