I've been offline as far as PGOffline is concerned for at least two weeks.
Trying to return I get that horrible error message.

What's the state of the game? Is there a patch in the pipeline?

Ditto for me.

I don't use IE to read Yahoo!Groups.

I don't have an option to skip authorisation anywhere that I can see in my settings. I'm using 2.5.40.

Thanks!

You don't have to use IE to read the groups.  Open IE.  Go to Tools | Internet Options and click on  Delete Files and Delete Cookies (this clears your stored cookies and cache.)Then simply login to Yahoo!Groups with IE with the "Remember Me" option checked.  Once you've done that you can close IE and not go back to it unless the IPFs start again.

For the Skip option go to File | Options | Workflow (tab) | check the Skip Authorization box.  Click OK and you should be ready to roll.

Lorraine.

A very big thanks. I followed your clear instructions precisely and have been able to download for the first time in about two weeks.

Wilson. How about running these instructions of Lorraine's as a header instead of "No news is good news"?

Gratefully,

OK, I need to become a 'devils advocate' here. (with all due respect and no offense intended Wilson).

I can't believe that folks are happy with the 'fix' of having to meddle around with cookies, caches, etc. One should be able to open the program and it should work!

This problem has been going on for over a month, along with another very serious one that I reported. These problems are crippling the ability to use PGO.

BTW, If you use more that one yahoo id all bets are off as far as the 'fix'.

If the battery cable breaks off the connector in your car do you pop the hood and hold the wire while someone cranks it over every time you want to go somewhere or do you fix the connector?

As far as I can tell yahoo is now stable and a PGO patch should have been out "yesterday".

There, I feel better now, I'm cranky because I like this program so much. Best Regards, Manfred

Clearing my cache, cookies, history, etc. makes absolutely no difference in how PG Offline works. Or doesn't work, as is the case right now.

Manfred,

I've replied to you separately.

Cynthia,

Please get back to me if the mail I sent isn't helpfull.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Did you send an email other than the one referring me to the clearing IE stuff? I replied to one email from you, to let you know that I tried that and it doesn't work for me.

Thanks,
Cyn

I followed Loraine's instructions and was able to get past the authorization, but still get the IPF message after "request number of messages."  Can someone help me please?

L.D.

That must be why the 'fix' isn't working for me still. Becuz I have many Yahoo ID's. :( I feel the same way u do. This problem along with the other one where it's not dowloading anything in some messages except the names, etc. is serious. We need help soon!!!! I have groups that I need to be able to get the 'full' messages from!

... Now I can't get Group list (EPF).....  This is getting awfully frustrating...

As a P.S. to my "Frustrated of Osnabrueck, Germany" message it's only fair to say I know of no other program on sale that offers such a service as Wilson offers. If you write to a great many help-lines you get no help at all, at best an automatic answer (FAQs and yours isn't there) and very rarely a live person on the other end.

Right you lot... calm down... and try the new patch.

Just dissolve under the tongue for instant releif from IPFs
