Well, I am totally new here; just got the registered version the other day. I've really been enjoying getting the groups and am looking forward to reading the messages from way-back-in-the-day.

I'm also rather new concerning the Windows PC; I guess I can look around for info, but I wanted to ask here first:

What are MDB files? Of course, these must be an archive of the group I just downloaded, but what does MDB mean? Besides from "PG Offline", where else can I read them? What's a great, freeware reader for these? Even if there's a specific tool that came with WinXP for accessing them, I'd like know an alternative.

And if someone knows of good MDB to HTML tools (free?), I'd like to know as well. I know that I would love to have each group set up as a web page format where each message would be a 'link' I could click on.

Thanks for your time.

Welcome Grated
MDB files are Microsoft Access Databases. PGO in particular I believe uses Access 2000 format. I personally don't know of a freeware reader, obviously you can use PGO itself to browse the data. I personally don't have Access but if I need to get into the files I can use an ODBC database filter to get in there. There are also tools to convert Access to MySql & postgresql that I am aware of.
I hope this helps .

I use  DBManager Professional , it is now at v3 , I use 2.3, from:-
http://www.dbtools.com.br/EN/index.php

This is a MySQL client that will import straight from .mdb file, no Access is needed on your machine.
