Time out...

Several times, I've gotten the "Time Out" message (do you wish to wait or stop).

The Stop button doesn't always seem to work.  If I press the Wait button and then try to exit PG Offline, it tells me to press the stop button first (even if I have already).

Is this a bug that you can confirm?

Hi Linda,

The 'Stop' button isn't instantaneous. It should really be called 'Stop after response received or timeout'. But thats a bit of a mouthfull.

Basically PGO can't break off what its doing or it gets its knickers in a twist so when you press Stop it waits for a response from Yahoo (i.e. it gets a message) or it times out waiting for that response. It may be that that the amount of time it waits before timing out is too long. We might be able to make that time user definable. You could fine tune it by making it smaller & smaller till PGO starts dropping real messages when downloading & then you just up it a fraction.

I'll run it past Alex & see what he thinks cause it is a pain in the arse.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I want to commend you guys because Time Outs don't seem to be a problem any more now that you've speeded up the download of messages!  And the download is super fast!!!

(I would have put this in a "KUDOS" part of the forum but I couldn't find one. )

Thanks for making a GREAT tool.

Linda,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. PGO is good because it fulfills the needs of the people that use it. We add stuff that we think would be neat to have and we add stuff that you ask for. Its such a simple philosophy it makes me wonder why so few software houses seem to work this way.

Cheers,

Wilson.
