There seems to be a maximum of 1000 messages I can download per group. Then the premium PG Offline 4 license prompt pops up. I'm being told there shouldn't be a limit on the messages I can download with the trial version.

Also, I only just downloaded the software yesterday, so then my trial shouldn't be up, regarding photo downloads, correct? Yet I keep getting the Limit is Reached message.

Is that correct?

Wilson Logan

Yes.

It used to have a 14 day trial but that makes little sense in the face of a service that's closing.

The objective of a trial is to see if it works for you.

Allowing users to download all the data they want for 14 days is simply asking to be stiffed.

Before the YG closure announcement my conversion rate was 50%.

After, it was 3%.

So 47% of users who would have bought just decided they didn't have to.

So now it has a trial that reflects the new situation.

That totally makes sense! I just needed to better understand what was happening. Thank you so much :)

Sorry to ask again.....with the new free version people can only download 1000 messages/files/photos total?  And then they can only export 1000 messages - but they can only chose one export method to test (if they try to test 1000 plain text and then 1000 html for all 1000 it won't allow?) So for those wanting to test the software have to be very careful during their tests.

Sorry to hear that. Your product has been a lifesaver for so many communities! Personally, I used it to back up an important mental health research and support community with nearly 80,000 messages and a gigabyte of data going back to 2006. (Registered using a different ID.)

@Everyone - if you have used PG Offline for a major backup, please pay Wilson and his colleagues. The license fee is a bargain!
