Wilson,

I managed to break PGO.  I was in uninstall programs, and was uninstalling all the old versions listed, and managed to uninstall my current version .175.

I downloaded a new version, and it sees my database, but it sez I'm expired on my 30 day free trial.

I thought I could re-insert my registration number, but it won't automagicly insert the HDD Serial number.   You can't manually put that number in the port, so I'm SOL for the moment.

You might check to see if the 30 experation kills the HDD Serial reader.

Anyway, will be watching for your reply.  However looks like you may have more important things on your mind right now.  Congratulations!

Brad,

It should insert the HDD Serial automatically.

Can you send me a full screen shot of it doing this?

Thanks,

Wilson.

Brad

Wilson,

I fixed it but not sure why this worked.

Background:

Program was installed on D:\Program Files\.  Accidently uninstalled program.  When reinstalled, got message saying 30 trial had expired.  Could see headers but got error message about trial period when tried to access body of messages.  When tried to re-register, the HDD Serial number was not being displayed.

"Da Cure":

I had uninstalled the reinstalled the program several times with the same result.  Finally, I decided to uninstall again and install on C:\Program Files\.  Immediately obvious that it saw my registration data.  (In register?).

I then uninstalled from C: drive (where I was didn't have the free space to keep the data files), and installed one last time on D:.  It then saw my registration, and everything was back to normal.

Brad,

Well done on figuring this one out. I was going to ask where you were installing PGO to. Before the multiple database feature was available I had multiple installed instances of PGO, e.g. I had one on my C:, D: & F: drives. I never had to register the ones on D: & F:, I guess because the one on C: was there.

I think with the new create database feature you could install PGO to C: but have the main database anywhere you like.

Cheers,

Wilson.
