Timing out due to updating user info?

I've noticed that I've timed out a couple of times (exceeded Yahoo's limit) when doing an automatic refresh.  I've only got the message counter set at 100, so when it updates messages, I don't have a problem.  (Think I have it doing an automatic refresh every hour.)

I may not remember the exact sequence, but it looked like it was going thru all the messages and updating the user statistics.  Shouldn't this happen by examining the downloaded database rather than accessing Yahoo?  Can I turn this function off?

What ever's happening, look like it's not throttled by the message counter.

Wilson, you may have a better idea of what's happening than I do.  If not, I'll try to catch it doing it and capture a screen print.

Hi Brad,

I think you need to go into File--> Options--> Refresh Members tab and set the refresh to 'Manual'.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Reviewing my settings, I had refresh groups manual, refresh members 2 hours.

So, I was bombing out on the refresh members.  Can you explain exactly what that is doing and why you'd want to refresh members?

I think I must of accidently turned it on instead of the refresh groups.

Brad,

Its part of the Statistics Builder feature. If you're a group owner &  you want to run statistics on how your membership is growing (or shrinking!) then you need to have an up to date list of your members.

The feature is available from  View--> Statistics Builder.

Cheers,

Wilson.
