Multi threaded downloading

Hi All,

I noticed something a bit odd. I noticed that if you accidentally start a download for a group twice it gets the first 25 messages and then tries to get the same 25 messages.

What, I wondered, would happen if you started a download and then went into Group Settings--> Download Settings and changed the 'Start downloading from the message number' field.

Well, it works (see below). I started downloads of GroupManagersForum starting at message # 1000, 2000, 3000 & 4000.

Whats the limit on the number of simultaneous sessions?  I don't know. How many browser windows can you have open on your PC at any time? That's the number of sessions you could have.

What will it do to Yahoo's lock out procedure?  I also don't know. It might just be that you'll get kicked all the sooner. I haven't DL'd enough messages yet to know.

Still... an interesting result.
