Hi All,

Dan & I are discussing how to improve the Search function. Given the state its in, almost anything would be an improvement :)

So, please let us know what you want to see as changes to the Search function.

Thanks,

Wilson.

I'll put two concepts on the table.

One of the methods below would be in place of having a global search where all messages from all groups are displayed together.

1) "Search" would work as a filter on the messages listed. The messages listed would only be for one group.  However, the filter remains applied, so when you select another group the same search filter is applied.

2) Search would display matched messages from all groups within the message list. The messages would be grouped by the group name.

Caveat, each solution might have some unseen limitations.

Hi Wilson and Dan. I'm revisiting the search function as to various considerations raised here.

But I had a problem getting the search to work (v817 beta - latest as of 8/23/14).

Is it just me? I tried these two things...

1. Searching on a keyword in the field Message - nothing happens.( I ticked the box for the group to search, then used Find All to initiate the search. I used a common word "that" (without quotes) guaranteed to be in there. I tried both the menu and the search button - nada.)

2. Saving Params for the above search -  gives "PGOffline has stopped working" with this information....

Thanks for any advice. Deb.

Hi Debs,

Search is currently not working/being re-written.

It'd have been best to have greyed out the search button. Anyway...

I got the exact same crash (CLR20r3) when I started PGO this morning.

I think this is the result of a Windows update. It was working on this machine a few weeks ago.

Cheers,

Wilson.
