Hi, Wilson.

I used to be able to choose a number of messages as a digest and, with a bit of copyiong and fiddling produce a selection of messages as a digest of a discussion in one document. It longer works - or I have forgotten how to do it.  How can I choose, say 50 messages in a thread and copy them into WORD for presenting them in one document?

Dennis  at   djn@dennisnewson.de

I'm PC, Windows 7.

Hi Denos,
It works on my system by the following steps:

Select the messages in the list
Right click; choose "Show Selection As Digest"
When the digest view opens, Select All either with Ctrl-A or selecting with the mouse.
Ctrl-C to copy;
Then open Word and paste.
Then format as you wish in Word.

I did this on XP with Word 2007 but think it would work on other versions of Windows or Word, too.
Good luck,
Deb

Deb,

Thanks so much. That is what I used to do. But I only remember it now you have spelled it out. I think it was the copy All, copy and paste that I had forgotten. Off I go to try - and thanks so much for replying.  Denos

:-(  Unfortunately it did not work. It seems to me the: Show selected as digest function simply does not work. Is there anything one can do about that?   Denos

Hi Denos,

Its working for me. I'm on V4  r746. What release do you have?

Cheers,

Wilson.

Denos

Hi, Wilson.

You say you are on 4 r746.

I am 3.0.84

How can I update? Just go to site today and download?. Would a new download recognise that I am not a new subscriber and keep relevant files only updating the program itself?

Cheers,

Dennis

I now have my old 3. version with all the files, but with malfunctioning: "Present selection as digest" (or words to that effect)   AND the new version 4.0746.0 which

a) Has taken over the names of the  lists I download, but they appear to be empty and

b) It isn't an update it is a trial copy for use for 29 days.

Where do I go from here?

Hi Denos,

You can export your messages from Version 3 and import them into Version 4.

Version 4 is currently a 29 day trial because we haven't added the licencing functionality yet.

What happens is that until we can add it, we will release a new version before the trial runs out.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Denos

With you Wilson, and thanks a lot.

Sorry. Me again. When I try to transfer data as you suggest from v. 3 to 4, working with Windows Explorer, I get the message:  "Action cannot be complete because file open in PGO executable (Is the last word correct?) I don't understand. I opened both versions of the program side by side and went to files, database in each version. I then attempted to drag and drop - and generated the above message.

Hi Dennis,

In version 3 you need to do a File--> Export to Folder of your entire database, close V3, open V4 & then do File--> Import from Folder.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Denos

Thanks, Wilson - did more or less as you instructed and it seems to have worked. It also looks as if "Print selected as digest" works, too.

Thanks yet again.

Eventually, version 4 will have an "Export selected to <format>" option where <format> will be Word or XL or RTF.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I know you folks are still working to get PGOffline to work with neo, but will there be an Export Printable Digest to RTF/Word?

Wilson Logan

Definitely. Its high on the to-do list.

Currently the top priorities are:

1) Photos, Files & Folders downloading
2) Add licencing functionality (Cryptolicence)
3) Fix the search function
4) Add export messages in different formats (.csv, Access, etc)
5) Add export Digest in different formats (.csv, Word, RTF, etc)

Cheers,

Wilson.
