This only happens the first time it starts receiving from a group, after 14 messages. PGO exits, then I restart it, go to that group, then begin retrieving messages again. It continues without a problem until I go to the next new group, or it will retrieve a few hundred messages, close itself, then restart itself. But I'm more interested in this problem with 14 messages, not the intermittent shutdown and restart of PGO.

I'm curious about why it crashes at the 14th message downloaded? This is the case even if I start at say message 13,500. It will crash on message 13,513. When I open PGO and start over on the same group, it continues without any problem. Try another group, and it does the same. Once a group has been "started" in PGO and has gone beyond the 14th message (doesn't matter what the starting point is), it seems to be OK in that particular group.

I can deal with this issue since once I get a group "started" in PGO, it's OK. I can live with it, but I wanted to report it since Wilson and the developer(s) probably need to know about this.

Has anyone else noticed this? If you have some groups you don't have in PGO, try it and see what happens, assuming that those groups have more than 14 messages to download.

The error message I usually get when it has downloaded the 14th message and is ready to crash is this:

PG Offline Executable has stopped working
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Sometimes, I get this message when trying to start downloading messages for a group I just put in PGO:

Error during save message to the database.
Error information: Automation error.
The object invoked has disconnected from its clients.

There is no indication that Yahoo is to blame.

I am using Vista SP2.

Update: On my last group, this didn't happen. But it happened on the couple of dozen other groups I have in PGO. And I had one or two that returned an "invalid page format" message. Columbusbuysellortrade was one of those. I simply deleted it from my group list.

Hi Donald,

Interesting issue.

Can you send me a screen print of it when it crashes?

Cheers,

Wilson.

Sorry, but I missed the reply and haven't checked this thread for a while.

I haven't had this happen for a long while, so maybe it was a program conflict that doesn't happen often.

Hi Don,

OK. If it happens again get a screen shot and forward it on to me.

Cheers,

Wilson.
