Hello,

I currently runnig PG 2.5.49 FULL version, and this is my first time using it ,when try to download group message there have an error message "message x not exist".

So I searching entire this forum to solve the problem, but sadly I am not found it :(

I try to fix the problem with try any suggestion from other thread this forum support, like uncheck enable caching message, clear cookies, add new group manually etc but all of them not solve the problem.

So Wilson any help for this problem?

Just additional information, the group is included to open group (not private.

Here the SS of my PG problem.

Thanks

Hi MB,

I don't know what this group is but often Yahoo deletes early messages in a group to save storage. For example a group with 80,000 messages may only have messages on Yahoo from 20,000 - 80,000. The first 20,000 have been deleted by Yahoo.

Please go online to your group and check that early messages actually exist.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I am having a similar, but somwehat different, issue: I joined a new group, and started downloading messages. It went fine for the first 6000 or so messages, then found a few missing messages. Instead of just skipping over them, and picking up where there were messages, it treated all subesquent messages as "not exist." After several tries (resetting the start number), I gave up. Then  the next day it was able to pick up another 2000 or so messages before having the same problem. Lather, rinse, repeat, and now I have up to about 10K messages of the 16000 or so total.  I have checked the group on Yahoo and yes, there are a few missing messages, but most of the ones reported "not exist" are in fact there. Resetting the start-number to where the actual messages pick up & trying again doesn't help,  but I suspect that after I let it "rest" it will recover. Any ideas?

I think you're being locked by yahoo. They have reduced the number of messages you can get at a single call from 100 to 30. This means you can only get about 6000 messages instead of the nearer 20000 messages you used to be able to get.

I have been restricting myself to DL'ing new groups at a very conservative rate of 4000 messages per day.

Cheers,

Wilson.
