trouble with favorites

I have done a search in one of the groups that I have downloaded with your program.  That search produced about 200+ results.  As I went through the results I wanted to mark some as favorites.  If I select the messages dropdown, add to favorites in not highlighted so I can not select it.  I can double click the message and select add to favorites from there.

I went throgh the 200+ results and selected MANY favorites in this fashion.  Problem is that when I went back later to sort according to favorites nothing was there!!!!!!

I tried it again with just a few this time and same results.  Did some testing.  If I select one of the messages as a favorite from the main list it stays.  Only seems to go away if I do it from a search result list.

Thanks for any help,

Thomas

Thomas,

I believe that the search results list is stored as a temporary table, so when you set the favourites you are doing it in that temporary table and not your normal group, AFAIK you need to set them in your normal group to "make them stick".

After doing some playing around with it last night it looks like you are right.  Does not make too much sense though.  You do a search to weed through all the hub bub but then you can not do anything with the search results.  I hope there is something we are missing.

Hi Thomas,

Gavin is correct. The result of the search is a temporary table. Any changes to that table are lost when you close its window.

An update to the program to allow changes to carry over to the main database is pending the arrival of our new developer.

Dont ask me when that is because I have to find him first :(

Thanks,

Wilson.
