What has happened to my group?

Hi y'all!
I am/was a member of the group "DrawingTogether," which was a group dedicated to drawing/art.  Within the last two weeks, it suddenly disappeared off our "sensors" (including the group owner/mods).  We have no idea why this is so, since there was nothing offensive about the group.  However, even though it's not listed in "My Groups" list, it is listed in PGO's group list.  Has anyone run into a situation like this with Yahoo?  What can I/we do about it?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Correction:  I tried doing a refresh and got an error message "Group Not Exist."  However, I did access the group listing, and both DT and DT2 (group made to take over/replace DT) groups were listed.

Thanks very much!

Yahoo had been deleting people's groups for no reason for quite a while now, and it's getting worse and worse. Even non-adult groups are getting deleted. Some people said they even only had a few messages, and it was deleted. No one has no idea what's going on. >:( And then, Yahoo won't even respond back at all if u email them asking what happened. And if u call them, u can't get much luck either. This happened to me lately, and I am very angry about it. :(

Well, I couldn't find "DrawingTogether" but I did find "DrawingTogether2" which indicates to me that the owners did this themselves or are recovering from Yahoo doing it. Maybe you can check with the owners of "DrawingTogether2".

There are a couple of very good groups for owners, some of which are even visited by Yahoo employees who can give the group some inside info. I can recommend:

EmailList-Managers

list-moderators

ListHelp

Hey Wilson!
I am a member of DT2.  No-one has been able to figure out what happened to it, but I have heard that other groups have just disappeared as well...without explanation.  We moved over to SmartGroups for a short while, but found out that they could sell anything you put in the image gallery/photo section (unless you either marked your image with copyright symbol and your name OR put "not for sale" on the image title/description). So we moved back to Yahoo and created DT2, which has been running smoothly ever since.  Someone tried to get more information from Yahoo, but, as usual, they are not forthcoming with the explanations.

WooHoo!!! I'm always on the lookout for a new art group. I moderate my own small art group (talk_Art), so I think I'll head over and check this group out..

Here's my question.

All in all - I moderate 7 groups. Is there a way for the owner to protect the messages, to either re-create another group or move to a forum format such as this one (which, some of my members don't like the idea of.)  in case the group is deleted?  Is that the PGO plus option??

Hi Tammi!

I have all the messages from DT(ver 1) archived (from #755-19,654), as well as having used "Photo Album Downloader for Yahoo" to grab everything in the Photo and Files sections.  I'm working on making those available to DT2.  We have had a time rounding up the former members, since no-one had made a hardcopy or database of the membership.  Fortunately, I think we have managed to round up most of the DT1 members.  And THIS time we are keeping a record of our membership.  Live and Learn!!  Shoot me your email addy and I'll send you an invitation (I'm a moderator of DT2)!  My email is aceharddrive@bellsouth.net .  See you there!

Yes Tammi,

You can recreate a group on Yahoo with the Plus version:

Wilson.
