Hi Wilson,

First I want to thank you and the team, PGO is very good software and works fine.

I'm using PGO 4.0.901 in a win7 ultimate. I'm trying to save the contents of a group whose moderator died in 2014 and there was not any other mod.

Now some doubts:

1.  Once I finish downloading with PGO all group messages, what may be the full size of a 20 year forum, around 120,000 messages?  It it possible to export those files from PGO to the cloud?   The messages in the cloud, remain searchable ?

2. If a forum message would have  virus, would that affect the download with PGO?  Usually at lists the people advice about a virus in the "message subject" then I can set the download by message number to avoid a group of messages,. but reviewing  the subjects is slow & tiring.  I use a good antivirus, so may I download without a prior revision?  Is there a risk the virus or the antivirus might destroy or inhibit the PGO or my system?

Thanks in advance, with best regards,

alhena

Its hard to say how large a PGO archive will be as the attachments are part of the database.

If it was just messages & no attachments it might be 120Mb.

You should use a good virus checker like AVG to find viruses.

Hi Wilson,  Thank you for answer. Concerning the file size, 120 mg is nothing, as the io people give 1 GB space per group.  But messages do not count at io, so if you PGO people issue the add-on to reinject messages "as messages" into io, good news !!

I'm using the Avast, hope they are doiing their task !!

best,

The tool to inject into io is nearly ready.

The only problem is that groups.io have a posting limit of 80 per hour.

So thats 1440 per day.

If you have 120k messages it will take 83 days.

But is there a huge rush?
