I am rebuilding my PC and need to move PG Offline to another drive. Where is the database stored, and the settings files please? I other words what do I need to back up to restore PG Offline elsewhere? Many thanks. OS is Win 7 64 bit Pro, and PG Offline is Version 4.0.822

Hi Basil,

All the messages, settings, etc are in your ygroups.db3 file.

I also have Win 7 64 Pro so your files are likely in the same place mine are:

C:/Users/<username>/Appdata/Local/PG Offline 4

Now this folder contains just the data, not the executable program.

I would suggest installing PGO on the target machine and then copying

C:/Users/<username>/Appdata/Local/PG Offline 4

from your old machine onto your target machine, overwriting the new empty 'PG Offline 4' folder.

That ought to do it.

If your data isn't in:

C:/Users/<username>/Appdata/Local/PG Offline 4

try

C:/Users/<username>/Appdata/Roaming/PG Offline 4

Failing that, do a windows search for ygroups.db3

If you get stuck, let me know.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Found it! Many thanks Wilson. I want to register PG Offline, are the issues with Yahoo Group downloads now considered addressed? Cheers and have a good weekend.

Well...

Message download is solved... Photos... I think so. Files & Attachments... not so much.

I won't add the registration functionality until all major areas are addressed so PGO will remain on a 60 day trial for now.

Cheers,

Wilson.

An honest and most reasonable response, if only our politicians were as statesman
like, I'd then know who to vote for at our forthcoming UK election! Much appreciated!

I have actually come under (not unreasonable) pressure from some users to release a registrable version even with PGO being in an unfinished state.

I think people are concerned that I might fall under a bus and then the 60 day trial runs out.

Even if something happens to me, the developer will still be around (and vice versa). Unless an asteroid comes and wipes out western Europe and then you'll have more to worry about than getting your Yahoo Group messages.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Nope
Just think you are doing a sterling job and want to offer some support.
But don't feel pressured if it is not convenient, I'll wait if needed

Be careful what you wish for... I have added you to the Test Team!

Cheers,

Wilson.
