Yeah sure. You can of course move the registration to a new PC.

I need Help ! / Thank You
Last post by josehill - December 19, 2019, 05:41:49 PM
Now that Yahoo Groups truly appear to be offline, I'd like to offer some thanks Wilson and anyone else who may have contributed to the development and support of PG Offline.

I've been a moderator of several Yahoo Groups focused on peer support for people with serious health and family issues, and the hundreds of thousands of messages in those groups may not have a lot of financial value, but they are an important record for the members of these groups. PG Offline has been a wonderful tool for us that has allowed us to preserve our history.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

PS. If you have used PG Offline now or in the past to preserve important information but haven't paid for a license, please consider doing so as a way to thank Wilson. (Disclaimer: I have no connection to Wilson or Personal Groupware aside from being a satisfied customer.)

I use it just on one computer.  It appears from going onto Yahoo that downloading to PGO is over.  But I still want to be able to use it on the messages I have downloaded.  What I was thinking about is down the road when I move to a new computer will I be able to move the registration.  It appears that will be true from your message.  What a screwup this has turned into.

Bug Report / P2G File Upload - files not ar...
Last post by gsf600y - December 19, 2019, 03:30:03 PM
Using the file upload option, which appears to be doing what it's supposed to, but the Files section on Groups.io is empty.

I select the files, hit Start, and away it goes and processes through the data, appears to be uploading as normal.  Once it's finished though, the STOP option remains highlighted as if it's still doing something.
Also, when I look on Groups.io, there are no files in the Files section.  The Activity log shows nothing either.  Not sure where the files have gone, or if they were uploaded, but subsequently rejected or something.

Just tested Photos, and same behaviour.

Thanks Wilson.
Let me know if you need any data/examples.
I've stopped uploading for now - will there be a test version I might be able to get my hands on at an appropriate point?

How interesting...

The vagaries of YG data never ceases to amaze me....

Its a valid point so we'll look at it.

Cheers,

Wilson.

Bug Report / P2G Message ID/DateTime/From w...
Last post by gsf600y - December 19, 2019, 09:27:12 AM
I'm currently uploading messages from between 1999 and 2019.
Messages from 07/9/2001 (message ID 15415) started appearing differently.  The information at the top went from:
> Message: 1
> Date: 26/10/1999 3:37:45
> From: Joe Bloggs <

to
Message: 21043
<br>
Date: 03/4/2002 1:12:51
<br>
From: Joe Bloggs <

Now with br tags in the middle.  This means the message list no longer shows the original date/time in the summary:

I'd really like to get that information clearly displayed in the messages list, as it really helps people to see at a glance how old the message is they're viewing.

Thanks

I think MBOX import might not be as robust as it could be.

I don't think it likes posts which contain HTML in the message body.

Yeah... I think it needs more work.

Cheers,

Wilson.

I tried doing that but all I got were errors for some reason. Might be related to the attachments path being needed by PG Offline.
