Title: default mail program
Post by: monte on March 27, 2004, 04:43:01 PM
When I click 'reply' to a message in pgo lookout express  :'(  always pops up.  I don't use outlook, I use Mozilla.  When I click a mailto: link on a web page Mozilla will open.  How can I change the behavior from within pgo?

Monte,

Which browser are you using? (I thought Mozilla was a browser!)

Cheers,

Wilson.

It is a browser, and a mail/newsgroup client and a web page editor.  Have you ever used Netscape Navigator?  It's based on Mozilla.  I'm using Mozilla as my mail client and web browser.

Hi Monte,

Sorry for the delay...

Can you tell me whats in this registry entry on your machine:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command]

Thanks,

Wilson.

"%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /mailurl:%1

I guess I should just change this to Mozilla.  I hate battles between programs like this.

Wilson,

I think it 's in the que, but thought I'd remind you that I'd sure like to see this set up in the program.  Reason is that I use two email clients: Outlook for business and Forte Agent for personal.

Hi Monte,

Hmmm... tricky one this. If we change this default, its changed for everything that uses 'mailto:' in a URL. I'm not sure that we can just make it default for PGO & nothing else. I could be wrong, I'll check.

Cheers,

Wilson.

How about a simple email client (sending) built into PG Offline?  You've already got the SMTP data collected in the mail tab under option.

Good idea. Consider it in the queue.

Wilson,
As it sometimes happens, my original problem has nothing to do with pgo, so don't do anything to directly try and fix 'my problem'.  The email client sounds like a good idea, if that's what you want to do.  Sorry I brought it up in the first place before doing the right research into 'my problem'.

Monte,

No problem. I like the email client idea & we will add it soon.

Cheers,

Wilson.
