New problem surfaced today that seems to block downloading any new messages.
The error occurs on more than one data file.
Here is the first portion of the log:
PG Offline 4.0.800.572
Days left for trial use - 87
Receiving messages for all groups.
[ASCOM-Developers] Logging in with account peschman2001@yahoo.com

[binoviewer] Logging in with account peschman2001@yahoo.com
[binoviewer] Error. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

Same here. Yahoo up to no good.
<Bill>
I tried falling back to version 4.0.800.571, but that produced the same results.
I notice that of the six groups I download, four are failing with the same two messages that Bill reported and there are no messages downloaded.
However two groups do not have the line "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." and messages are downloaded without any indication in the log, such as :
Logging with gfineman. Group - MPD-2d
Total messages: 9528. New messages: 24.
Downloaded message with number '9505'.
Downloaded message with number '9506'.
Downloaded message with number '9507'.
Perhaps they are on a Yahoo Server that does not have this change yet.

Hi Gabe,
That's very likely. I know from the past that Yahoo roll out changes piecemeal across their systems and very annoyingly, frequently roll back changes.
Many years ago we spent a lot of time 'fixing' format issues that subsequently vaporized. I made a decision at that point not to react to Yahoo format changes until it was obvious that they were:
A) Rolled out across the entire system
B) Likely to be permanent.
Cheers,
Wilson.
PGO 572 seemed to be working okay today. No errors. Maybe Yahoo done playing around.
I'm getting in on all 27 groups I'm a member of. Also I was able to download photos, Now I'm getting an error message that none are found when getting the listing:
"There are no items available for this group"
The problem persists, however, it seems that new messages are being downloaded for
some, if not all groups. It may be that the error message:
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
only shows up when there are no new messages to download.
In other cases I see something like:
"[ASCOM-Talk] Error. The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
"[ASCOM-Talk] Downloaded and adding messages '31801' through '31804'."
So, at least some new messages are downloading.
Pete
Still not working at all for some of the larger, more active groups, such as:
1. ATCS_Monitor (9,000 members, 59,000 messages)
2. singingwires (1,000 members, 117,000 messages)
3. HFmonitors (1,000 members, 21,000 messages)
4. MilRadioComms (1,500 members, 74,000 messages)
5. railmishaps (900 members, 28,000 messages)
Last and the most important, is a job related group (private, name can be supplied to developers if needed) I am active on daily and is pretty much unusable with the "neo" changes.
Please help!
The error messages stopped yesterday for the 31 groups I download.
Things seem to be back to normal, however I don't watch for attachments,
so I don't know if there are any problems there.
Yeah, its really annoying isn't it? Obviously Yahoo have backed out the changes they made.
This is why I do not make changes to PG Offline as soon as Yahoo make changes because you never know if the changes will stick or not.
Cheers,
Wilson.
I'm getting this same error today. I haven't been able to use PGO since the big changes at Yahoo a year or so ago and have just upgraded to version 4.0.814. I'm looking at a group that I manage that has about 10,000 msgs in its archive, and the refresh/update function started well, but failed at msg #2417 with the "internal server error" described above. PGO has now frozen totally and attempts to click anywhere are just giving me 'beep' errors. Looks like I'll have to crash it and start again. Fingers crossed ...
I'm running Windows 7.

Downloading completed.
Still about 7,500 newer msgs I can't download for some reason - any suggestions?

I believe that is the message from Yahoo when your IP has been locked out. You should be able to try again in a few hours.
I can confirm. The (500) Internal Server Error means you have been locked out by Yahoo.
Cheers,
Wilson.
