I understand the delay between tries but I don't quite understand the use for 'initial delay',  wouldn't you want it to just start when you click go?

Could someone please explain that, perhaps I'll find it usefull.  Thanks.

I've been downloading big groups, 200 messages then wait 70 minutes, then download 200 messages.... running for days at a time.  If I want to make a change, stop and read some messages, etc., I had to look at the clock and figure out when to start pg offline downloading again so I wouldn't get bumped by yahoo.  Now I just set the initial delay and go.

It wasn't my idea, but I use it.  Normally I have it set to 0.
