Title: what is the difference between these two functions?
Post by: daniel4ever on April 14, 2011, 03:08:54 AM
Hi all!

What is the difference:

1) Files > Export to Folder

2) Messages > Export Selected to a Database

Thanks!

Hi Dan,

Both functions copy messages to a new database file.

The difference is Files  -->  Export to Folder copies all the messages (or a range which you define) from a group and

Messages--> Export Selected to a Database just copies the currently highlighted messages in the group you are currently viewing.

HTH!

Cheers,

Wilson.

Hi! Yes, it does. So, theoretically, the second option, if all messages are selected, would result in the same as the first? Are both output files the same format?

Thanks!

Yes, if you selected all messages using Messages--> Export Selected then thats the same as Files--> Export to Folder.

The output format is always .mdb file which is MS Access 2000 format.

Wilson.
