I'm getting the "invalid page format" error message on some groups but not all groups. Even among the groups I own some download messages, some throw that error message.
I use only one Yahoo account so it's not the password or username being a problem since it works on some groups. At one time they all worked just fine. I catch up on the groups every couple of months and it isn't working 100% now.
Any ideas?
It works on these groups:
Grow-Hops
Zymurgy
GroupManagersForum
BeerSmith
BrewingEquipment
It does not work on these groups:
ModerationPlugin
HamRadioAntenna
Paperport
Amateur-Repairs
Chevy_S10

I have the same issue with error messages. What is going on ????
Would really like a response to this problem - I makes PGO unusable...
??????
HELLooooooo ?
This issue is making PGO unusable - What is the problem/solution ????
Thank You
Hi Manfred,
Yahoo are mucking about with formats.
E.g. the Zymurgy, Grow-Hops and BeerSmith groups mentioned by Donald were definitely not working and now they are.
I'm loathe to make alterations to PGO only to have Yahoo change the format back again.
Cheers,
Wilson.
WooHoo....... its not Yahoo !!!!
I have no idea what is going on - but I doubt its Yahoo formats.
I was able to fix all 'Error' message by going into File/Options and unchecking 'skip authorization'
I have no idea what that does and can not find any description of it.
In any case all my groups now download as before with no Errors..
Explaination ?????
I have an older version of PG Offline (v. 2.5.47). This was the only version I could find that actually works, so I have been reluctant to update it. The last time I successfully updated my group (TIMEWAVEZERO2012) was on June 28, 2011. I have archived 19,758 messages. This is what now happens when I click on "Receive Messages"
7/16/2011 9:22:07 AM > Set group's info (TIMEWAVEZERO2012)
7/16/2011 9:22:07 AM > Authorization started
7/16/2011 9:22:09 AM > Authorization accomplished
7/16/2011 9:22:09 AM > Request number of messages
7/16/2011 9:22:10 AM > Error : Invalid page format.
Do you have any suggestions as to what is wrong, or how I can fix this?
Thanks,
Jim.
Hi Manfred,
'Skip Authorization' stops PG Offline from logging in for each and every group using the entered login details. It uses the cached login information from IE.
What this implies is that if it works with 'Skip Authorization' switched off then you need to refresh the cached login information by logging in to Yahoo groups using IE.
You should do this as a matter of routine in any case.
Or leave 'Skip Authorisation' unchecked.
Cheers,
Wilson.
Jim,
You should upgrade to 3.0.84

Thanks Wilson, the new version worked. But when I go to register the product, following the steps at http://www.pgoffline.com/purchase.htm , under Help, I see only Support Page, Help, and About... I don't see the option for Product Registration. Does that mean I can upgrade my old version without having to re-register it?
Thanks,
Jim.
BTW, my old version (v. 2.5.47) WAS registered and paid for!
Jim.
That 'trick' of logging in with a browser does not work for this issue.
I tried logging-off, logging-in, clearimg the cache, removing cookies, etc, etc...
Nothing worked other that unchecking that 'skip authorization' option.
This behaviour was the same on both an XP and W7 install.

utine in any case.
Or leave 'Skip Authorisation' unchecked.

I unchecked "skip authorization" and it worked for Paperport. I'll try some others.
Could you explain what this option does and why we might need it checked or why it works unchecked?
Donald
Hi Donald,
By default PG Offline signs in to Yahoo using your stored Master Login information.
If you check 'Skip Authorisation' it uses the cached login information it finds in the Yahoo cookie in IE.
If you have cleared your IE cache this information will not be available & the result is that you will not get your groups.
In hindsight it would have been better for PGO to detect that the IE cache is cleared and automatically failover to using the Master Login information.
The advantage of 'Skip Authorisation' is that it only logs in once to Yahoo making Refreshs slightly faster than using Master Login which logs in to each and every group when you do a Refresh.
Cheers,
Wilson.
I am getting the dreaded "invalid page format" msg on some groups now ....
I am using PGO 3.0.84 ....
Yahoo appears to be uncooperative with downstream storage apps .... oh well, I guess I must move on.
