I'm getting the 80% full message so I deleted a couple of unused groups (relatively large) expecting this would resolve the problem. No Joy.
I also see that "Compact Database" under "File" is gray and can't be selected. Any suggestions?
Brad
Hi Brad,
Removing groups does not free up space on Access databases until they are re-organised (the Compact option).
What you did was correct but I am concerned that the optiion is greyed out? The only time that should be the case is if there is no active database selected.
Can you send me a screenshot ?

Thanks,

Snap shots sent as you requested.

Hi Brad,
I have received the screen shots and as discussed offline there appears to be two issues, both related to Win7.
1) is that PG Offline should be run in WinXP compatibility mode
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
2) Windows 7 saves newly created item where you would not expect.
" application data previously stored in the All Users profile in Windows XP is now stored in the hidden %SystemDrive%\ProgramData folder in Windows Vista. (and in Win7 I expect)
For more information about ProgramData, you can refer to the following site:

Cheers,
Wilson.
I also have the 'grayed out' problem and attempted to set PGO to run in 'compatability mode'
Well that did not go well - numerous error messages about missing files, expired access, full databases....
There must be more to your solution that you did not explain.....
Details on how to fix this please.
Hi - I noticed that this was never addressed - I am still having the 'compact grayed out' problem.
???
Hi Manfred,
I don't think this issue is going to be addressed, not with the launch of version 4 so close.
You can try the beta version 4 if you wish. I have attached the latest version.
You should unzip it into a folder (called anything sensible). There is no install file. You just navigate to the .exe file in
Sensibly named folder/PG Offline/bin/Debug
and run it.
Now, non-functional menu items ought to be greyed out but if you click on something and nothing happens, ce la vie.
BTW you should be able to import your existing group database in Files--> Import from Folder.
Please let me know how you get on.
Cheers,
Wilson.
